| Does anyone feed Orijen Layla eats home cooked food but because we travel into the US a lot i need a kibble that i can bring over (not allowed ot bring human food over) She is eating Fromm right now... mostly grazing....and as a way to tell me she is hungry at which point i give her her real food. I know Fromm is a good food but i'm thinking of going completely grain free in both home and kibble food. Does anyone feed this and can tell me more about it?? how did the change from regular kibble to Orijen go?? i'm sure it is more expensive but because she eats so little kibble, it realy wouldn't matter... any imput is great |

| I just started feeding MY Layla Orijen! She's got food allergies and honestly nothing seems to make it better. Orijen is one of the best foods you can get, and she hasn't been on it long enough to really tell, but just over the past couple of weeks the little flakes of skin from her back have completely went away. I've been using the fish kind, which is full of omega-3 so it's great for their coats too! So far I'm loving the food (other than the fishy breath!) The switch over was very easy, she didn't fuss at all and she had no queasiness or anything from the switch. She seems to be eating less of it than she did with her last food (royal canin). I think it's just more filling.

| We just started feeding Sedrick and Doogan Orijen about 2 weeks ago and have not had any negative "feed back" from them. Doogan is very fussy and he was actually the easiest one to accept the change. The local store we purchased it from had sample sizes from the company that were $1.99 for 400G of the chicken, turkey, egg and fish or $2.49 for the fish medley. If you can't find the sample size and want to try it let me know and I will mail one to you. Lorraine and the Monkeyboyz Sedrick and Doogan |

| I feed Charlie Orijen with Solid Gold wet food plus 1/4 tsp. Nordic Naturals Pet Cod Liver oil daily. His coat looks so much better since he came to live with me in April. Remember though Orijen is dense and you will feed less than normal. Their poops will be much smaller, compact actually firm (not hard though). No gas with this food. I also tried Evo when the pet store ran out temporarily of Orijen due to import problems. Evo is also grain free, but I prefer Orijen for the ingredients. Good luck.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You have the most amazing recall of any member I know, are you on ginseng or are you just dang smart as a whip? Marci, I do feed Orijen - for about 3 weeks or so now. They LOVE it, even more than Canidae. The kibble is larger than Canidae - and more "disc" shaped; so it's a bit larger, but if little Marcel can manage it...I suppose most could. I decided to try it after reading Orijen's White Paper, which I thought was so enlightening and educational and SIMPLE, in terms of canine nutrition. It's here: http://www.championpetfoods.com/orij...hite_paper.pdf I just really like their philosophy and their understanding of nutrition. Let me know what you think if you try it!

I'm interested in Orijen's new 6-Fish version as well, I may have to try that one as it is more the "single-protein single-carb" type of food, which may even be better for Marcel as I think he has IBD. Which one are you trying? I think you and I feed very similarily - homecooking w/ kibble for grazing and supplements added. So, I'll be curious to see how Layla likes her new kibs.

| they are so stupid at the boarder (sorry). It doens't matter if it is distributed in the US, it has to say Made in USA on the bag.. but i'll check it out.. or lie I won't be feeding Layla the 6 fish... her tummy and all that fish DON"T get along and we have to smell the outcome (so gross) so i'll be steering clear of that!! i once had her on a salmon version of Fromm and oh the gas!! but i was able to bring it back.. so maybe i'l give the 6 fish a go! that's how we feed to.. the kibble is always down.. she RARELY picks at it... more so at work than home... and if she does i just ask her if she wants to eat and give her some of her home cooked food.. it's mostly for travel for us. OH I JUST HAD AN IDEA!! i'm going to EMPTY my Fromm bag (it is made in the USA) and PUT IN the Orijen.. they will NEVER KNOW!!! i love beating the system |
