| Would you suggest I bring Bandit to the vet to have her do that endoscopic thing to see if it is that? The second to last time we were there she mentioned that she was concerned and was logging the frequency of these bouts, but the last time we were there both dogs were sick, so she felt relieved because it was something they had both 'caught'. Could it just be that Bandit has a sensitive stomach? |

The only thing an encoscopic biopsy will do is totally confirm an intestinal disorder of some kind (could be IBD, IBS, etc). The treatment remains the same regardless of the diagnostic confirmation. I wouldn't put my baby through the trauma when the end result is the same anyway. I agree that with a change in diet and an add of supplements, you will find these bouts go completely away.

| JaJa's albumin count is dropping... Now, 2.5 years after being diagnosed with PLE- and has been on 1.25mg prednisone for 2 days, then 1 day off ( to keep her adrenals working) - just found out that her albumin and total protein counts are slipping. While her albumin is 2.8 ( still within the "normal") range her vet wants her on prednisone every day for 4 weeks when she will have more blood tests. She's not showing any significant side effects to prednisone (except constant peeing and always hungry) but am concerned that now she has to be on it each & every day. I give her probiotics and a good formula of duck & potato food. Any suggestions based on your hsitory will be greatly appreciated! Thanks. |

i caught ava eating her poop today; i guess she has been doing this for few days now; i was wondering why her breath was stinky; and i haven't picked up much poop. now i know. OMG i know she' s hungry all the time cause of the prednisone; but is this normal. she used to do that when she was a puppy but haven't done it for a long time. what should i do. she goes on the pad when i am not here sometimes and so she's eating it. i am scared she will get sick again because of this. ps; she didnt do that while on homecooked ground turkey and oatmeal; only with this new food purina EN canned. i guess it smells good.
