| Cheese rolls and Liver treats My girls will go to the counter and just sit looking at the treat jar at 3 p.m. waiting for either of these two easy, easy, easy treats. Cheese rolls - 1 can of biscuits (the refrigerated kind) 1 can of Kraft macaroni dehydrated cheese (they have it at walmart) take a biscuit or two, knead in as much of the dry cheese as you want, then pinch off little pieces and place on cookie sheet (sprayed with non stick spray - or lined with silpat sheet). Put in 350 oven and check in 5 - minutes until lightly browned (just like your biscuits) then put in zip lock bag in frig. Yep - that's it. To DROOL for Liver treat - (I don't remember where I got this but my girls drool for them) In a food processor put 1 pound of beef liver - and liquify it add 1 package of cornmeal mix (Jiffy, Mrs. White's, Texas - one of those little packages) Process until mixed. Spread in a cookie sheet sprayed with Pam as thin as you can (in my small sheet on recipie makes 2 pans) Cook by the directions on the cornbread mix, but watch it the last 5 mins or so so it doesn't burn (it's thinner). I cut mine in one inch pieces right out of the oven with a pizza cutter, and freeze. This is so easy - and both of these are cheap, cheap, cheap. I think your fur kids will love them as much as my two girls do. You can also cook the liver ones like pancakes and cut them up. Even my friends who hate liver say it's worth it to see the dogs eyes light up - and clean up is quick. hope you like them too

| Better Breath Biscuits Better Breath Biscuits- for Dogs Recipe Dog treats/biscuits that are safe & easy to make! Can improve bad breath. Enjoy, I usually use cookie cutters for fun shapes. 20 min | 10 min prep SERVES 24 -48 3 cups whole wheat flour (can use all-purpose I use Potato Flour Or Rice Flour) 1 tablespoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 cup vegetable shortening 1 cup plain yogurt 2 tablespoons honey 2 tablespoons chopped mint leaves, fresh(Plus 1 Tablespoon Parsley optional) 1.Preheat oven to 425 deg. 2.Using a mixer; combine flour, baking powder & soda in the bowl. 3.Add shortening slowly and process until it resembles cornmeal. 4.Add yogurt and mix until combined. 5.Add honey & parsley and mix through. 6.Roll out for even cooking. Can use cutters for shapes or just cut into bars. 7.Place on cookie sheet & bake 10-14min, or until they start to brown. 8.Allow to come to room temp then place in airtight containers &/or refrigerate. 9.Will last at room temp for approx 6 days, keep in fridge for longevity. 10.I recommend 1/2" by 1" bars for small & med dogs or 1" by 2" for large breeds. Even smaller pieces are great for training! Polo loves these treats and they do seem to help with Polo's breath! |

Did you try the recipe with rice flour? Did it work? The cookies should come out semi hard and not crumbly, like a fig bar. They keep very well in the refrigerator if covered. | |
