I just wated to post it for you, but I have NEVER tried it. I took a human recipe, and changed all the "bad-for-dogs" ingredients to "ok-for-dogs" ingredients.

Maybe if you try this and it doesn't turn out, you could offer some suggestions on how to improve it.

I always experiment with treats for Dooie using the things he likes, so I though I would do one for you

BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES

Even the 7 year old, never had their teeth cleaned! The most beautiful teeth! She gives all of them a spoon (tablespoon or two) of cottage cheese in the morning and at night. I think there is a natural enzyme in the cottage cheese that helps keep the teeth clean, plus the calcium! At this point you may need to let the vet clean them and then try the cottage cheese. Good luck!
hey there I read this post and thought it was interesting and thought I would try it. Did the breeder only give her cottage cheese? or did she do that plus brush the teeth at night?

BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES

Oatmeal cookies with a banana twist
Banana ripening: 2 weeks
Hands-on time: 30 minutes
Time to table: 1 hour
Makes about 30 cookies, easily doubled
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup real Maple Syrup
1 very very ripe banana
1 egg white
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup rice flour (fluffed to Airate)
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1-1/2 cups oatmeal (old-fashioned or quick, not instant)
Preheat oven to 350F.

Gently warm honey and syrup in the microwave.
With an electric mixer, thoroughly mix in honey, syrup, banana, egg white and vanilla.
Add the flour, baking power, and baking soda into the mixture only small amounts at a time.
With a fork, gently fold in dry ingredients.
Now use the mixer to combine all the ingredients together.
Stir in oatmeal.
Drop dough by tablespoons onto a baking sheet lined with parchment.

Bake for 11 – 14 minutes until set and golden. Cool 5 minutes only before removing from tray (do not skip this step or cookies will stick)

***NOTE***
Question: In many veterinarian sites they say that baking powder or soda is really harmful for dogs. So I really want to make a cake or treat for my two dogs, but I am not sure if baking powder is safe?

Chef's Answer ~ You should not feed your dog straight baking powder or baking soda, but using a teaspoon or two in a dog cake or other dog treat should not cause any problems.

FYI
Thanks!!!!! Im going to try making these tomorrow and I will tell you how it goes!

I know this is an old post but I wanted to put my 2 cents in on Ceaser's. I sold a puppy to a lady who fed her Ceaser's and deli meats. This is NOT what I told her to give my puppy. The puppy got sick and sicker and sicker. Finally, they thought that she had liver shunt. She had finally stopped the deli meat and come to find out that the Ceaser's was too rich for her system. I don't suppose that using Ceaser's as a treat would be a bad thing but this lady said that the puppy wouldn't eat anything else once she had started eating deli meat and Ceaser's and didn't seem to think we knew what we were talking about. I do think this puppy might have been a special case but please be wary of Ceaser's. Sylvia

3/4 C. skim milk
1 tsp Healthy Powder (I just added this to the recipe)
500 iu Vitamin E

Cook pasta according to package directions. (If you use anything larger than small shells, chop it up into smaller pieces so it's easier for them to eat.)

Melt butter in small saucepan. Add milk and flour, and cook over medium-low heat until sauce is thickened and bubbly. Stir in cheddar cheese until all is melted together. Remove from heat or it will stick to the bottom of the pan.

Drain tuna, put in medium bowl. Add veggies and pasta. Stir in supplements until well distributed. Pour cheese sauce over entire mixture and toss. You can top with a little extra cheese or veggies, if you like.

Makes about 2 cups of food-about 4-6 yorkie meals. I made this and froze half for later. Emma and Milli LOVED it!

Suzy, if I had you in front of me right now, I would kiss you!!!! I made this for Maxi last night and he DEVOURED IT. I have never seen him eat like that!!! I switched him over to Halo puppy food cause he was eating crap kibble before we got him and he liked it at first but then after a week he didnt want it anymore! I was at my wits end. I made this for him last night (I have enough for like a week!) and he LOVED it. He ate all of it and wanted more, which I didnt give him cause his little belly was so tight already lol.

Thank you so much! Everyone this reciepe is great. Def try it!!!

This is probably a stupid question, but better safe than sorry... I know its bad to feed garlic and onions to your babies, but what about in the powder form? Is that bad too?

Thanks! I see so many receipes that use garlic powder so I wasnt sure. What can I substitute that for?

Thanks!

Wheat is bad for yorkies why would you put that in a treat for them?

Bad for them?
Never heard that one.
It's responsible for a lot of food intolerance issues, but most dogs do fine with it.
