| hhhmmmmm Does she have sores on her paws? What are you feeding? It could be a food issue. Try spraying Bitter Apple on her fur. She may stop. You may want to speak to your vet because it may be an alergy of some type. Good luck!

| I have a dog that did that and then I changed their food to Innova EVO and it has stopped. I believe this is food allergy related. What are you feeding your little one?

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Chester was a paw chewer. He had nothing wrong with his paw...believe me, I would check. Could be allergies or just a nervous or "do it when bored" habit. If it really bothers you, you should contact your vet.

| Do you burn candles around your little one? This could hurt her eyes! Scented candles are like smoking around your dog. What food are you feeding your dog and what dog shampoo are you using?

| I just saw your message and I too have the same problem with my little yorkie and I always have, but I have noticed some little sores on her body lately and that seems new! I have had her at the vets on several occasions for the problem. They always seem to suspect allergies, but I wonder if it is actually food or environment. I have never heard of candles and I burn them, but not all over the house. I have changed her food a few times with no difference. The only way to know for sure is put her on a non allergy food and feed her only that for 6mos. and no treats or any people food! I will bring her back to the vets soon! Any thoughts? |

| I know a dog that does that as an act of self harm. Just thought you should know. If your dog is new and is seperated from his family, it could be that. But it is most probably food related. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | A friend just had a terrible time with infection on her yorkies paws and it WAS mites....Also - compulsive chewing can be a kind of nervous thing with some dogs...and it could possibly be allergies and you got some great advise about food - Sometimes eliminating the everyday things slowly will find you a solution and I hope changing the food works for you.... on another note - my cocker Tessa used to suck her toes....it was a baby thing though - cute to see... but then kind of worrisome - but she stopped doing it after a while... |

Changed them over to Artemis Small Breed formula and the problems cleared up. Chicken, Turkey, Chicken Meal, and Lamb Meal are the first 4 ingredients. I still feed Nature's Variety frozen medallions and canned, because both are just meat and veggies, no grains. Food for thought....... Sheila

I choose this food because kodie was on hill's l/d and he was was lacking what normal food has in it... my vet thought if i switched him to a regular food inside of a perscription that he would have a better coat, skin, and maybe gain weight. So far... kodie hasnt really gained weight... hes skinny. His skin has improved alittle... and his coat is slowly getting better as well. I have my pup also on derm caps for his dry skin. I also asked a vet i'm friends with how long will it take to notice a difference from these new things I have kodie on.. and she told me it could take anywhere from 2 - 8 months... it depends on the dog. It has been almost 1 month since I switched over kodie's food and started the derm caps. I guess its a good things I notice alittle bit of improvement so far... I also have a medicated bath I am doing for kodie every 3-4 days as needed for itching... it helps him... but not as well as I thought.. I am going to try selesn blue shampoo tonight for kodie's dry skin... a vet recommended it to me. I am hoping it works out great... i'll let you know. but anyway.. if i dont see anymore improvement within the next 2 months... i'm gonna try another dog food that another vet recommended to me... I think its potato and duck... or something like that... its for dogs with skin problems.
