| Gerber water I read in a recent post about Gerber water helping with tearing eyes, so I decided to give it a try. IT WORKS! I can't believe what a difference it has made in just 2 days! At Miki's last vet visit I had asked about her eyes tearing all the time & the vet said she didn't feel there was anything wrong with that, it meant that her tear ducts were in good working condition. But, it looks so nice to have her face dry, not to mention Miki hated it when I had to wash & comb her face everyday to prevent the "crusty's". Thanks to whomever it was that shared this info!!! |

| That's fantastic! Are you using the little bottles of Gerber Graduates water or the gallon container of nursery water that has the baby's pic on the front?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I used it for Joey when he was a puppy and it totally worked for him too. One day I noticed his eyes were tearing and I asked my husband if he had given Joey regular filter water, and he admitted he had. I'm so glad he told me the truth or I would have probably thought the distilled water wasn't doing the trick. Within a day of using only Gerber's purified water with no minerals, his eyes weren't tearing. I would experiment once a month and give him regular filtered water and around 11 months he could drink the regular filtered water with no tearing. So this isn't something they will need for the rest of their lives and I do think it has something to do with teething, but the minerals in regular water made Joey's eyes tear.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This is so interesting. I've never heard of Gerber water; I know the brand, but didn't know about the water. Is it like distilled or purified water, or is there something else that makes it Gerber-y?

| I bought the gallon size at Walmart for $1. It says it's purified water with minerals added for taste. It also says 0 mg Sodium, & no added fluoride. Miki is 2 yrs 4 months old Nancy 1999. I'm just so glad that it's working! Hope everyone else that trys it has the same kind of results! |

There are so many theories on causes of tearing; it's really hard to find a one treatment for all dogs. After the teething period, Joey was tear free for a couple of years, until I did a food switch and then at the time it was a much more serious case of tearing, with brown gunk in his eyes and a beard that was wet all day. In that case, I just switched back to my regular food and it cleared up. By the way, for those interested, this site has more information on some of the causes of tearing. | If you just do a google search in images you will find a picture of the Gerber water. I wasn't aware that there were 2 different kinds...one with minerals & one without. The Walmart where I bought it only carried the one. I was confused as to what I had read in that post because I thought it said "no Minerals", but this is working for Miki. I don't know why, but it is. I wondered if had something to do with the fluoride, but I don't think there is fluoride in bottled water, and that's all Miki got before. Our tap water at home has fluoride added, but I never gave her tap water... the mystery goes on. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I have been using this for Taycie for awhile now. Along with a food switch she has been Tear Stain free since July! I have in a pinch used regular bottled water of mine for her that I had on hand when I was out of the Gerber. I noticed no reaction. But.. Gerber Water has worked well for us! I Love it!
