I think the Gerber water says purified, but you can also use distilled water that says "Safe for drinking". Since some distilled water is meant for steam irons and other things, it's not always packed in plastic bottles that are considered safe for drinking. Purified water may or may not have minerals added back, I chose the kind without the minerals. By the way, regular bottled water which is just filtered, but has minerals didn't eliminate Joey's tears.
