| Canine Dermatologist Has anyone been to see one (for their dogs)? I am thinking about taking Lily to see one. She has always had white flakes on her back/body. Now, she also has like 15-20 red, pussy bumps on her privates and booty. She bites at her booty and paws. She excessively itches her ears even though we clean them often (and de-hair them). We've tried changing food, treats, special shampoos. Nothing has gotten rid of the bumps. So, I'm thinking maybe a specialist might be needed? |

| I have never been to one but the symptoms you mention seem to suggest allergies. Presto was allergic to Royal Canin as well as blue buffalo and would constantly scratch his ears and lick his paws. He's now on wellness and seems to be doing well. What shampoo do you use for her, it can be related to that also? I use Pet Silk Moisturizing Shampoo, Conditioner. I hope it helps!! Good luck to you and hugs to Lily, i hope she feels better soon!! |

| We've literally been through every food under the sun. We are currently using Honest Kitchen and it's much better than it's ever been but still not gone. For shampoo, we use Tropiclean (no chemicals). |

| Some dogs have allergies to oatmeal based shampoos, which are generally touted to calm itchy skin. I think coconut oil based shampoos and conditioners are better for normal and agitated skin. As you've been dealing with these problems for a time now, it would be wise to go to a Dermatologist straight away. I think they would be better equipped to get to the root of her problem quickly, and get whatever is affecting her under control. Good Luck and wishing you the best... let us know how it goes...

| Yes, Piccolo goes to a Vet Dermatologist for another reason. One of the best decisions I ever made for her was making that first appointment. Hope this vet can get things figured out quickly for your pup.

| Yes we've been to the vet dermatologist for two dogs. She saved Daisy's life by figuring out what was wrong with her (not just with her skin and allergies). She also treated Barney for a staph infection, after my regular vet's course of action failed. If your dog has skin issues, I think going to a dermatologist can save time and money unless you have a vet who happens to be good at skin (and mine have not been).
