Also if anything happens tonight, I am supposed to take him to a 24 hour ER vet in town. I was reading up on hook worms in your lawn, it's pretty tricky, so tomorrow my hubby is enclosing the patio with fencing, so no one touches the grass till winter. They have 2 toy boxes in the yard, I have to get rid of all the toys just so they don't have anything in them from laying in the grass forever at times. Any thoughts of that high platelet count yet?
here is some info on blood work - could just be dehydration due to all the diarrhea

I think she said lehigh valley, maybe a doc. called charles hodgins, or hodgkins, I think that's when I asked her about giving him plasma, she said if he needs it she would send him there. I thought she would send me to that place where tucker was scope for his trachea, they were loaded with a variety of different docs. She said for plasma not there because she wouldn't know who tuck would get, it sounded like she prefers to really know a doc. before she sends one of her pooches to them. Which the trachea guy was very good with tuck.

He has a collapsing trachea, in his chest area, he started out using an inhaler, but he doesn't need it, he gets 1/4 pill of theophylline, chlor pheniramine for allergies, and CV formula an herbal remedy for cardio vascular strength. The allergy pill I think is the best, and I judge with the weather and his breathing to give it or not. So it's really not everyday. We mostly changed his way of life a little, on walks he gets carried to one corner then walks to a corner, we don't let him over due anything. Also we keep an air filter fan in the bedroom on at all times for him. Cool everything for him is the best. Last winter we all were under an electric blanket so we could crack the window for him, and he was perfect. The crazy things people don't do for their dogs!!!

lol you are an awesome momma

oh yeah I had all brand new carpeting 8k worth and dd has allergies - ripped out 2k worth put in 5k laminate floors for the dogs. I bought all oreck air purifiers for her and put in hypoallergenic filters in our a/c units - we have 2. You name it we have done it for Dee Dee - My parents say pretty soon it will be a white room house. I bought the new roomba to keep dust up for her. She has horrible allergies so i know how you feel. I just wish I could find a cure for allergies but that is a real tough one sadly I spare no expense for that little girl but sadly some things like health money just cannot buy or I would buy it

I have another vet that's about an hour away, she takes care of gram and my 2 parrots. She is more country ish, she used to work in a zoo. But anyway I love her surgeries, She operated on grams cherry eye, and a 15 year old cockatiel's above the eye tumor. I really like her but she's too far for emergencies. The one I use for tucker and the girls is very close and she's a younger, modern, up to date type doc. Plus she personally knows alot of other people.

that is good - sometimes the younger ones are still excited about their career and do the research and educate themselves more especially if they are passionate about what they do. I always like when a vet has a good network source too as that is so important

you crack me up... we ripped up the family room rug, laid laminate for the dogs, then they were sliding so we had to buy a super large area rug, then added a carpeted step in front of sofa for them to jump on. In front of the fireplace is cushioned beds for them, they lay so close to it that I swear their fur is smoking. The table in there has to be cleared so they can walk across it to get to the person in the recliner, or they will sit on the sofa and bark till you move your coffee cup and they all run like rats across the table one by one. My dogs have issues!!!

Carpeting does have bad stuff in it. I know they say when you get new carpeting you should stay out of that room for awhile because of the stuff in the air from it. Last year we recarpeted the stairway and hallway. When me and the dogs would go to bed, I made everyone carry one up the stairs so they wouldn't touch the carpet with their feet. My family was ready to shoot me then. hee hee!! I'm still laughing at what you did to your brand new rugs. oh my god...that is about the best..

I totally know what your saying my Buffy takes the same meds for breathing the theophylline 1/4 2x a day but if there is a fire some were in the LA county its 3x (every 8 hours) and we did the same thing with the window open because the heater was on, but now we have a Cool Mist Humidifier pointed at our bed (were she sleeps) that puts the moister back into the air for the bronchos to stay open and have the heater on too.

The room would be so cold that we were all catching colds even Buffy....lol.

You can also use it in the summer on those hot dry days and also very good if you have allergies you can breath better at night.

Try it you can return it if you do not feel a difference.

No diarrhea since 4PM yesterday. Everything seems almost back to normal except I think his belly hurts him, he doesn't want to lay down, my hubby was looking up hookworms today and he said they do give abdominal pain. Also this blew my mind, scientist are finding that hookworms are beneficial to some illnesses, like respiratory!! Since this diarrhea episode started, tucker has never even snorted or snored at night. BUT for the past few days we all seen a difference in his breathing. Especially after being medicated with anything, it looks like he's so tired that it is an effort to breath. OK for now, Tracey

That is wild about the hook worms and breathing though

Boy Tuckers back!!! I just wasted a whole pack of panacur, he would take a bite and twitch it out of his mouth, even added yogurt, he wanted no parts of it, it must be bad cause he will eat anything, yesterday he did but now he's coming to his senses and knows. So I had to open a new box and make 2 meatballs out of that id dog food and poured the granules in a hole then sealed it, they went right down with a pain pill. I had to run to the vet this am to pick up tramadol for him. He was acting normal, even running, but now the meds are kicking in and kicking his butt. My dogs really react to all sorts of medicines oddly. He ran out today and had a soft bm. no liquid, 1st. time I was glad to see bm. I was ready to celebrate!! I am starting to feel positive about this whole thing, and not so much doom. I'll keep ya posted.
