| Amelie and food I got Amelie almost a month ago now and she is 3 months old and I was wondering something about the food she eats. She eats Eukanuba: SMALL BREED PUPPY kibbles. Now the problem is she is supposed to eat 1/2 cup daily because she weights 2 pounds, but she eats basically 1/4 or a little bit more. Also I've noticed she likes to eat from the floor instead of the bowl, what I do is I put 1 on the floor then pick it up and put it back on the bowl. Please help guys as this is my first puppy and I love Amelie a lot. She pees on her pad!!! |

| Hi! Thank you for the warm welcome! The bowl is a brown ceramic small bowl (I was told ceramic was good as it is easy to clean). I have to drop the kibbles on the floor for her to eat them... Here I send you a picture of the bowl Thank you in advance! |

| You could try a smaller bowl (more shallow) like one made for a cat, or just try using a plate... I have done this when they were small and didnt want to stick their head in the dish yet. You could also try mixing a tiny bit of canned food with the kibble... or just adding warm water.

| Thanks for the advice! I tried mixing canned food with the kibble but it did not work, I guess i'll try warm water and the flat plate. |

| Scruffy at first only ate out of a shallow bowl.. then I needed my bowls back so he ate off a plate. It was really hard getting him to go to a doggy bowl. So I found one finally that looked like it was for a cat. It being shallow seemed to help alot. I did what you are doing.. putting food by the bowl... then putting it back into the bowl. Thats just what we did. Good luck |

| I use a flat ceramic plate too. If I stuck a bowl down, I think he would laugh at me You also may want to try mixing in some Fat Free plain cottage cheese. I had to do this with my little one when he was little to entice him more.

| Winnie wouldn't eat either when i first got her 5 weeks ago. I would feed her out of my hand and i used the food for treats and tricks. I would pick the food out of the bowl to show her that's where it was coming from. She liked eating from the floor as well but I didn't want to start that habit. I figured if she was hungry enough she would smell the food and eat it. I bought cat dishes since they are so shallow. It's cute because sometimes she trys to get the back of the dish and her back legs come off the floor. She's up to eating a little less than half a cup a day but I do give her lots of treats for going potty outside so i'm sure that fills her up as well. One thing that I have noticed is that she poops like 4 times a day! I don't see how such a little dog can poop that much! |

| Darnit maggie, Amelie poops 3 times a day, and I thought that was strange. I guess if we all ate balls all day we would poop 3 times a day aswell... |
