| I have to say, I don't titre test because I don't vaccinated PERIOD! I allow Bailey to do what he likes and go where he likes...I don't wrap him up in cotton wool because he's not vaccinated...he gets dirty and enjoys his doggie life... I don't lose sleep over it either...after Max was put to sleep I vowed to do things differently and have done so, against my vets "better" judgement but I don't care and I will not be dictated to...Bailey will take his chances in life, like we humans do...humans get vaccinated as children and that's it...who ever heard of vaccinating children every year...fooey! | Bailey gets fed on Burns Chicken and Rice with Burns Kelties as treats...never had any diet related problems with him...no skin problems etc...really makes you think...vets make a mint through prescribing Hills veterinary diet that contains animal derivatives...see link Glossary of Ingredients |

| I wouldn't revaccinate if I were you. Missy just had her 1 year booster and reacted terribly to it. She will not be getting any more vaccines and I'm debating even getting Dora her 1 year booster when it comes time. I may just take the chances with her only having her puppy boosters done. And, NO RABIES for either of my girls. It isn't the law in my area, and I am so grateful for that.

| Sadly it is the law here in Michigan. The only alternative would be not to license Sophie and take the chances of being busted and fined. We don't board Sophie but boarding would be another reason one in Michigan would have to document a pup's rabies shot.

By law you have to get a rabies vaccination every year, in order to comply with the licensing laws. In many areas, they do not even take into account that the rabies vacination is good for 3 years. It does not matter, you still have to get them every year. If you take your dog to day care or board them, they have to have recent vacinations. So the change is going to have to start with the laws, and it will take heavy pressure from the breed clubs and the AKC to get the laws changed. Humans do not require boosters every year, why should dogs. | |

| True...our yorkie "Baby" lived to be over 16 years on Purina Lamb & Rice and then Senior. But after all I've read here I ended up giving our Sophie Wellness believing it has better ingredients.

| You can pull a titer on them to see if they are still immuned. My guess is they probably are. I have a whippet that has only had his puppy shots and had a titer drawn last year and he was still showing immunity and he was 4. Most vets will do them. They cost more then a vaccine because most have to send the bloodwork out. I am lucky I live near Dr. Dodds so I go directly to her facitity and have her staff pull the blood and get results the next day. |
