| Awww, thanks both of you. I'm glad i've been some help to you. I first discovered raw on another dog forum when I was battling with horrible skin problems with my Indy. The people on there helped me immensly and im still a member now. So its nice to know that i've been able to help people on here in return |

| Reading this thread has gotten me really interested! How much are the NV frozen medallions and freeze dried? According to NVs website Sugar and Spike would eat 2 each a day and Gracie would eat 3 so I'm trying to figure out how expensive this would be.

| I also started the NV Raw-Venison, this last Sunday The bag of 48 medallions cost me 10.99...I says to feed 5 per day for a 10 lb. dog, so I fed my 2 -3 to each of my babies. They loved it! However, Trini got it all caught in her beard and I did not like that...It was VERY hard to wash out! I will keep feeding it until the bag is empty and make my descision as to continue it or not...

So for me, 1 bag would last almost a week. Hmmm, I might go for it. Thanks for the information!

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | The freeze dried is the most expensive way to go, unfortunately! If you can do medallions, patties, or chubs - it's more cost effective. I paid $21 for a bag of 48 freeze dried medallions. Marcel and Wylie are doing GREAT on them, so I'll start the raw (non dried) at the end of November. Let me know how it goes!

| Reese is still doing good...the only thing is that her poops are a little hard and small, which I am thinking is because of the high bone content in NV. Few questions...since there is lamb in the venison meal, can i put ground lamb in with it to ease the bone content and help her little bottom?? is ground ok?? What types of meats do you feed your dogs? I saw some beef liver, beef heart chunks, and buffalo meat today...i can't believe that i am even looking at these things now!! i never even knew they were in the grocery store!! I know some people feed these right?? Once she gets settled I should be giving her various types of meat chunks and meat on the bone to help her teeth??? How do I know which are safe? AHHHHH Quote:

| Darn, they all have carrots, including Primal lamb....I wish I had the time to make up her own foods. I homecook every so often but there's no way I can do it consitently with working 70+ hours a week. |

| Ok u have us both (Roufi and I) interested in alternative foods. She absolutely hates kibble. Don't matter if its Royal Canine or Science Diet. I am tired of her looking up at me when I try to feed her with a "not with your lips" look hehe. What exactly is "raw"? and why do my vets suggest a balanced all kibble diet. ps. i wouldn't mind cooking for her a couple of times a week if I could get 7 days supply out of it. |
