Well if its that long a drive a then you might want to buy some different ones so it lasts you a while lol. What meat is in her kibble? If possible, start with the same meat so that the transition will be easier for her. If all goes well then you can try her with different meat around a week later, and so on.

For all of you who are going to try raw....to let you know Reese is doing great.. She is still crying for food at meal time and we have had no runny poos or throwing up at all!! The one thing I have noticed is that her itchies are WORSE, but I think its because her body is getting rid of all the toxins from the dry food I was feeding her...Is that right for those of you who went through it also??

there is a detox periods that lasts different amounts of time for different dogs. i'd wait it out and see how she is in a few days.

I'm glad she's enjoying her food and that you have no sickness or runny poos. As far as the itchies, just keep an eye on them, it could be her detoxing however if they are no better in a couple of weeks then you may want to change the protein source. Also, have you considered getting allergy tests done? You see if she's allergic to a particular type of meat or vegetable and thats what is in the premade that your feeding then it won't get better until those things are eliminated.

The allergy testing is definitely a consideration....I will see how she is doing after a little bit....but do you think this period of itching is normal?

Yes in some dogs, I would say in a couple of weeks if she is no better then perhaps talk to your vet about allergy testing.

I heard it is better to start off with chicken or turkey? I personally bought organic chicken for Chloe. It was 13.99.

Also, not sure if you've missed this or not..make sure to use this coupon when purchasing NV product! It is like buy one get one free bag!! They are normally like b/w 11-15 (of coz depends on location and type of meat).

we started a while ago, but today morgan got her first taste of pork. We're having pork loin for dinner so i made sure to chop up some raw pork for morgan before i cook it. she'll have a few pieces today and the rest i'll freeze for another day. she's quite mad that i only gave her two little pieces. been whining and staring at me the whole time since waiting for more.

I still need help on the subject of raw! My Yorkies have allergies, and one is of course fleas, but I have decided to change over to NV Raw in the mornings and Instinct NV in the afternoon, but both are the Yerkes flavor! I just started the switch this week, and the dry kibble in the afternoon feedings I am going really slow with! I thought they liked the dry Instinct grain free, but now I am not sure! I cannot confuse my dog sitter with all of this, plus I do not want them to get the runs with the change! Should I try something else raw besides the chicken, since maybe all the skin problems is from chicken and not grains????? Thanks
