Tracy, I will pray for your precious baby boy. God has his hand on Sammy and I think He is already using that little boy for His glory. The picture of him "preaching" is really touching. God works in mysterious ways. I have a nephew who had Chiari Malformation when he was in his 20s that presented with symptoms of migraines and being unable to eat even when he was hungry. He just didn't feel like eating. He lost a lot of weight. Long story short, he had surgery and came through with flying colors. It never slowed him down any.

I just wanted to tell everyone, Thank you all for your continued support and prayers. I've talked with many of you in PM's and it really means so much to me that you took time out to message me!

We are waiting on doctor appts with his pediatrician and well as the neurosurgeon, but at the same time checking into all of our options to make sure that he has the BEST care!

On a good note, on Sunday Samuel asked for chicken lol. We didn't even know he knew what chicken was! He took about 2 nibbles but we will take it, because he has never done that before. Then on Yesterday (Monday) he ate 2 of the lil pineapple cups ! More than he has EVER eaten in a day. I was so happy and overwhelmed with joy because I just couldn't believe it and neither could dad!
I am a big believer in the power of prayer and wanted to thank you all for praying for us. We know we have a long road ahead of us, but I have no doubt that God in trusted this special little boy with us for a reason!

I am so sorry for what you and your family are going through. I would like to share my daughters blog with you. At least take a look and read about my grandaughters feeding issues. Hopefully there may be information that could help you.

My daughter has been researching many of Anslies medical problems for six years. One of my daughters issues has been dealing with the feeding tube and trying to get her to eat solid food. I don't know if you could do a blenderised diet for your son but Susan has a video, recipes, etc. on the site that are very healthy for children with feeding problems. It's been a long road but Anslie is making some progress towards solid food.

My daughter Susan belongs to a trach forum and I think it would be a wealth of information for you. While your son is not trached many of these children have feeding tubes or food issues and the parents are very supportive of each other and have tons of experience dealing with similar issues.

Awesome news!!!!

Maybe he will expand his food interest, poor little guy I really hope eating isn't painful for him.

Smoothies and shakes then juices were helpful with both Milo and Marek.

I love this new system it's far more reasonable than a lot of juicers and extracts nutrients in the same way.

https://www.nutribullet.com/index.ph...ore/orderindex

I know pedalite is soooo expensive maybe he'll accept some home made options and you can play around with combinations, sneak some natural acid balancers in for his tummy and give him carious food and flavor choices.

Hope the inertia of positivity keeps on.

Tracy, I to am just seeing this for the first time and am blown away with hearing what you are going through, you have not been a member here very long but your kind upbeat nature has made an impact via your posts in short time, you are an important member of YT so I hope you can feel all the ((((((hugs))))))) and prayers. I am assuming your little Sammy has a lot of his Momma in him so that is why he touches so many hearts. His pictures and smile are priceless. I have no advice but I am so impressed with how much others have gone through and are willing to share, every bit of their experiences will help you. On a positive note, it was encouraging to hear that several people have amazing success stories related to surgery. Sammy and your family will be in my prayers for a long time.

Thank you for the link to the nutribullet, I will be investigating and reading up on it more.

You hit the nail on the head so to speak. We have been trying to figure out if it is painful for him to eat or if it could be like his GI doctor thinks that maybe he is scared that it might hurt. We know that at times he will chew and start to swallow and have to repeat it a few times before he can.

Blending may be a great option for him, because he is not receptive to a lot of textures, but he likes smooth ones yogurts, etc. But he is not big on cold things because of the sensory issues he has.

Dole pineapple cups looks like the next thing we should buy stock in lol. I tried applesauce last night and even though he kept touching his tounge to the spoon something about the texture or taste must have been off because he didn't eat it.

Yes the pedia sure is VERY expensive $9.95 a six pack and we use about a pack and a half a day. But any price is worth it, just to know he's getting the calories that he needs.

Thank you sooooo much for sharing your daughters blog about your DGD, I started reading it last night and will continue to read and keep up with it. I will also keep them in my prayers. Ainsley is a lil Angel.
I'll keep you updated on if any of the recipes work for Sammie.
Again THANK YOU so much!

Thank You, I truly do feel all the love and support and am so Grateful that I was guided to this site. I truly don't know how I would be handling his diagnosis if I hadn't had everyone at YT to talk with!
Samuel is truly a blessing and a fighter. My doctors were concerned about me having him, because I put off back surgery to do so and have continued to put it off until he is taken care of. No matter how much pain I am in or how bad of a day I am having, this little boy only has to smile at me and I find myself smiling right back. He seems to change the atmosphere around him, if that makes any sesnse. It truly is amazing!
I again have to say Thank you so very much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers!
