Can you delete a previously posted message and how do you delete attachments? I have pictures I would like to delete and cannot :(

You can delete a previously posted message on a profile page, but not a thread on the regular forum, you have to ask a moderator or admin to do that, but they probably won't do it unless there are extenuating circumstances. You have five minutes to edit your threads in the regular forum, after that, you can't edit. Any picture that you put as an attachment in the regular forum, can't be deleted, except during this first five minutes. Photos from your albums on your profile page, can be deleted whenever you wish by opening an album, and on the top right hand side, you should see the words "Edit Pictures", you can delete one or several pictures from an album if you choose this feature. You can also select a picture one at a time, click on it and select "edit" and delete a picture that way too.

Well I posted pictures of dogs that were not my own without permission and I would like the 2 attachments removed because of that :( Hopefully the admin can help me with this since I am a newbie and did not know I could not edit/delete attachments ;) Wont happen again promise :)

I think it's ok to post pictures of other people's dogs even without their permission, we just can't claim that the dogs belong to us, if they don't. :D People post pictures of other dogs all the time, so there probably isn't a problem.

Since you are a non-donating member it can be no bigger than 75 pixels. If it's bigger than that Yorkietalk automatically resizes it but it loses the ability to be a moving file. I'll resize it for you and you can save it to you computer and upload the new size, and it should move. Donating members can have avatar that are 125 pixels.

We think we did everything right while posting our profile picture but it still does not show up when we post replies/post. Can you help?

There is a difference between a profile picture and an avatar picture, the picture that shows up when you post replies is called an avatar, and you must upload a picture where it says "edit avatar." Your profile picture, on the other hand, is the picture that shows up on your profile page, and it can be bigger than your avatar. It looks like you uploaded your profile picture correctly, and it's a darling picture. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/cus...19195276_1.gif. Just go to "User CP" and choose "Edit Avatar" to upload a picture for that.

I've only uploaded 9 pictures... all sized 600 x 450 or less... and it says I'm out of room. I tried to open another album, but it still says I don't have any room.

When you upload a picture it will tell you how much space is left in the albums. Here's a quote from admin:

So if you are a nondonating member you only have 1MB of total space for albums, and 9 pictures probably takes up close to 1MB. By the way jpeg's take up less space than other file types.

When I resize a photo through infaview... it worked once now it just says invalid bmp. What am I doing wrong?? thanks

Let me reword it lol... when I upload to the thread it worked once, now when I try to upload it it says invalid bmp... I resize it through the infaview. thanks

You may want to try to save them as GIF or JPG files, then upload them here. Thanks!

Yorkietalk doesn't take "bmp" files, commonly called bitmap files. If you read the instructions by "manage attachments", it says it only takes:

Bmp files take up too much space. So save in another type of file, for example jpeg, or jpg.

How do I show pics & captions to go vertically on a post? Whenever I attach pics, they show up at the bottom, horizontally & I'm not able to put captions directly next to them...:confused:

See what looks like a little paper clip above where you right you message, under the red X in picture?Attachment 284333

You can click on this to upload your pictures, and click on it again to attach the pictures and they will be attached within the body of the post.

HELP! I had a stationary photo of Sophie as my avatar. We bought Hazel so I wanted an animated avatar of both yorkies. I managed to download photoscape and make a animated avatar of both puppies and saved it to My Pictures but when I edited my avatar photo it only shows Hazel now and doesn't blink to Sophie. Where did I go wrong :confused:!

It has to be saved in a gif file; the avatar you are using now says a jpg file. Only the gif file, groups pictures together, yet keeps them separate. It also must be within size limits or yorkietalk automatically resizes them and turns them into a single file.

whenever I am trying to post pictures it keeps telling me that I have a missing security token does anyone know what this means or how to fix it???

That message will come on if you pictures are too big. You need to resize them so that they are no larger than 200 kb, or about 700 pixels. Here's a site that resizes pictures: Resize Images online

The pictures you uploaded are so cute, but you don't have to make them that small to use here. They are only 200 x150 pixels, which is around 2 inches. You can use a picture that is 600 pixels, which is around 8 inches.
