hello,
i need help, i have posted pics before with no problems, but i have been trying to add new pics its saying i have over exceeded my album size by 24.8kb. and i dont know how to go about resizing the pictures.Do i have to delete my other albums in order to gain more space or something?

please help.

Each album can contain so many pictures, and you can have a certain number of albums with the total amount of pictures fairly high. It will tell you where you upload the pictures how much space in an album is remaining. When an album gets too full, you can start a new album, or delete some of the pictures you no longer want. Yorkietalk automatically resizes many pictures, but says you will get better results if you do it yourself. Hi,
I am trying to post some pictures and I made sure they are 640 X 480 pictures but for some reason the file size is greater than 200KB. How can I fix this so I can post them?

There are different ways to save a picture, gif files, png files, jpeg, and jpg are all files that Yorkietalk accept, but jpeg, and jpg files compress pictures in the smallest size using the least amount of Kilobits (KB). So save your pictures in either jpg or jpeg files. Do you know the file type of the picture YT would not accept? I'm guessing it was a gif or png file.

Thank you for trying to help us with this problem, the file is a jpeg, and i have post pictures before i have two albums so i cant explain why is not allowing me to post new ones, its taking with the same digital camara nothing diffrent from my other albums, i really wanted to post my babies new pics with santa they look so cute but i have been trying for some time now and cant figure it out.

Where you upload the pictures, it will tell you the space remaining in that particular album, you may have to create a new album.

i have, well at least i think i did, i hit the add a album right.then i enter the title, upload them i have even tried to upload just one picture and it still gives me the same msg, i give up. but thanks for all your suggestions.

Sounds like it's time to go to the A team, I would PM admin, and tell them what you have done, maybe there is some glitch in the system. They don't always read these threads.

I just realized that I was answering two different people, and I'm not sure I've made myself clear. Where you upload the pictures it will tell you how much space is left in your total album size. Pictures limits for albums are:

"Maximum File Size per Picture 195.3 KB
Maximum Picture Dimensions 600 by 600 Pixels"

Six hundred pixels is only about 3 inches. I also noticed that you have a large number of albums, maybe you have too many, even though most don't have any pictures in them.

Thank you for trying to help me. My pictures are saved as jpeg which is why I am confused. I have never had trouble with the jpeg files being uploaded. For some reason, though, the file size on the picture is greater than 200KB. Maybe I should try to resize them again and see if that helps?

You can right click on a picture, and check "properties" and it will tell you how many KB it is. The pictures in the albums, have to be rather small 3x3 inches, which is smaller than the pictures uploaded to a thread.

the empty albums are new pictures i keeped trying to upload in diffrent ways which didn't work thats why they are empty i have to try and delete them:).

Everytime you answer the other person i get an email like you had answered me thats why i responded, i will try to resize my pics dont know how but i will continue to play around with this hopefully i will get to post their santa pics before christmas:)

I created a new album today, but could only upload a handful of pictures. I see others' albums with many pictures in them; how do I get more pictures into my album?

What does it say when you try to upload new pictures? I think we should ask admin about this, because I'm a not sure nondonating member has the same album size as donating members.

I've failed several times to upload my picture too! I chose 75 by 50 for the sizing is that still too big or what did you use? :(

Hello,

I have been a member since 2005 and have yet been able to show pictures of my babies. Could I email someone my pictures and you put them on for me please? I love Yorkietalk and have learned so much about puppies and caring for them. I love everyone's babies and I am on here a lot. I would love for everyone to see my babies too.

Avatars aren't showing up
 
I finally got my avatar to show up when you register in, but now I can't see anyone's avatars. It indicates my img code is off. Where do I go to find IMG code? I went into CP and show avatars is checked, so I need to know how to find IMG code and check on.

First of all, I'm glad you got your avatar to work, but I'm not sure how to help you with not seeing other's Avatars. Do you have Internet Explorer? You can go to "Tools" "Internet Options" "Advanced" "Multimedia" and check "show pictures." There should be a checkmark by "show pictures."

Thanks for replying. No, I have Mozilla Firefox. Shucks. I use to use Internet Explorer. My husband and son switched. I'll figure it out sooner or later. My son will probably be able to fix it. Your little Joey is adorable.

Thanks, for the compliments on Joey! Lots of people uses the Mozilla Firefox and love it, I just don't know how to give instructions to fix it. If I were you, I would start a thread in "Off Topics" and title it Mozilla Firefox users, I need help. One of them should be able to clear up the problem in a jiffy. Here's the Off Topics forum. In the posting pictures section, am I allowed to post links to my photobucket account?

I have all my pictures uploaded there, it just seems silly to re-download them here when I can just post a link.

You can post the pictures on someone's profile page, from photobucket, (use the IMG link to get the picture to show up), but the only way they will show up in an album is to upload them from your computer.

I am still having trouble posting pics. I manage to load it on ok . It go's into a area which says on the upper part members galleries. The picture is there .I then click on the submit part below the pic and it then tells me that I cannot move an image to that category and to try again. I have tried again and must have at least five or more pics on that area but dont know how to get them into the photo area on the forums.

Any help I would apprecieate

If you want to post a picture in a thread, you have to upload it from your computer. Underneath the part where you type your message you will see smilies, and underneath that you will see the words "Manage Attachments" click on that. See picture for more help.

No what i meant was can I just post links in the forum area that is dedicated to posting pictures of my yorkie.

I really don't want to download them again on to here, I would just rather start a thread and then post the links for people to click on to look at them on photobucket. I just wanted to make sure that wasn't against the rules for that area of the forum.
