You really need to step up and tell your pom NO when he starts "terrorizing" the yorkie, then you need to put him in another room for a few minutes (1-2), then reintroduce slowly. If they are playing nicely, ok... when there is aggression going on it needs to STOP. If you continue to baby your pom and allow the yorkie to be beat up on just because you don't have a connection with him yet -- this situation will get much worse. Fighting over you isn't cute, and it can get dangerous if you don't step up and be the boss. |

you are not alone with this. We got a rescue Yorkie 1 1/2 weeks ago. And he eat like never got food before. Now he does eat alot slower. He also marks his area. That is what the older gentleman taught him to do. The vet said beings not been fixed and almost 2 years old. That will probable not stop, so now he wears a belly band when out of his pen. He also was not use to being in a pen. But now when we are gone or he poops in the house he know that is where he has to go. Deiter also would not let Cozmo on my lap with out going after him. That now has subsided. I know where you are coming from with all that you are going thru. Hang in there. Just remember that they both have there own personality. That is what won my heart over with Cozmo. It took 1 week for me to get attached to him. Now I love him too..... Hang in there it takes time. But Cozmo is coming around slowly but we are working very hard with this. |

That is such a nice story to share. You are a good mommy. |
Thank you. I was begining to wonder. I was getting very flustered at first. But that just didn't get me anywhere. So I stepped back and looked at the whole picture and thought about how Cozmo must of felt going to a new place and not being with the only person he only knew. Now new people. Thanks for telling me. I needed to hear that. Thanks |

How is everything going with your Scooby? |
I think many of you are reading into this a little too much possibly. The words the OP is using to express herself shouldn't be up for criticism. Please try and be a little more understanding of where she is coming from... She has stated earlier she has always been used to having puppies very young and raising them diligently from the moment they step in the house. I'm sure you can see that it must be a rough transition to try and teach a 5 month old puppy when you are used to teaching 3 month old puppies. Also, I believe, this is her first time having more than one puppy in the house...which would be a big transition to go through as well... All we can do is be supportive and help in anyway we can. I know you are all discouraged, but let's cut her a little break. I'm sure this is very stressful for her. Good luck with your little ScoobyDoo! We're here for you. |

Roles change, yorkie is bullying the pom now. They are just working out the boss order. Both are bullying each other but not hurting each other, both humping the hell out of each other. My only thing to do is permanently separate them both as I cant sit and watch them 24/7. |

They are not aggressive to the point of hurting, just rough horsing around and humping each other. Roles changed since I made that post. Yorkie is coming out of his shell. They are eating together from same bowl and wont eat alone now without the other. So I dont think they are hurting each other and when I separte them, they both whine for their pal. They are boys, they play rough. By terrorizing I mean Pom was harassing him to play when he was not in the mood. Neither are hurting each other. I am NO fool to allow this |

And I dont appreciate being told I am abusing them. I am NOT. |

Thank you for understanding. That is the thing, the woman allowed his to poop and pee in the house becuase she had NO time to take him out as he was not a breeding dog or show dog anymore as he only had one testicle, so she had no time for him. She allowed him to do what he wanted. I have contained them to a small area and they are getting along nicely. Only when they play hard and rough the crap starts,m but right now both are chewing a pigs ears and side by side without a brawl. I dont understand why people must condem me for making an observation of their behavior. I am not a fool or idot that I will allow one or the other dog to LOSE THEIR SENSE of being. Good God man, give me a break. They are boys and they have to work out their status. And I am NOT babying my Pom he is a very independent dog, always was and always will be. He is not even mad when I comb the YORKIE now. And I will refer to them as Pom as yorkie for the reason I dont want to keep repeating myself as to who is who. |

Thank you darling for your supportive and great post. Yes, it is first time for everything you said and I appreciate this post very much. |

What about the Pom:D . They are even walking together nicely:rolleyes: |

Because I simply wanted another toy breed for my dog as a life pal and not the same breed. I looked at all the toy breeds and researched them carefully size, temperment and traits before I decided. I didnt just buy cold turkey. I wanted a totally different breed and the yorkie was it. |

If you would have said rough housing or something like that other than terrorizing, I wouldn't have been concerned for you. Mine play all the time where they really go at it, but from your wording it seemed as if it was **not** play. I'm glad, either way that they are getting along better. |

Wait up here, am I being condemned for loving my Pomeranian? I will in time love the yorkie just as much. I dont use names becuase I have two breeds and I dont wnat to keep repeating myself as to who is who |

Yes, I used terrorizing as I just choosed the wrong word, that was all. Horsing around and very rough playing. The yorkie scoobydo is showing terrier traits and really fighting for status. They are getting along very nicely. Even eating out of the same bowl. bandit the Pom has not eaten dry kibble for months, lo and behold he wants it now LOL:D . So all my cooked food is in the trash can it seems, not yet, but I may clean out the freezer if they will both eat the dry kibble until all those teeth are changed over to adult |

I say My Golden Amy You could say Your Pom Bandet. You Repeat everything else over and over why not this? Sorry I just think you were not preprared to bring this Yorkie Into your home. as much as you have read and all on here you would think you would have. I have a problem with all the Whining. |

I'm happy to here that everything is going better for your pups. |
First trial I left them alone for four hours in the wash room came back, both are still alive and I dont see blood anyplace:D |
We have a 5 month old. After continuous, obsessive, and relentless efforts at housebreaking, she still pees and poops anytime and anywhere in the house AND in her crate(!?). She just does not get it and does not appear she ever will. This dog is a lost cause IMHO and I hate to say it but I regret getting her everyday. Pound for pound, this is the most destructive animal I have ever seen. |

Yes, the both got a nice walk separately, then both got to run their hearts out and play, then came in and gave them a stinkie dried calf snack that will occupy them for a few hours:D |
Quote:
Maybe you should start your Own thread in the Training section? or in the rescue or new homes needed? You can not expect a 5 month old to be house broken. |
Quote:
Some will do that, and that is why you see full breeds ending up at the pound. Have you tried a behaviorist? Did you get her at 5 months? I have read many places that Yorkies are extremely difficult to house break |
