Aubrey was just starting to get potty trained at 6 months, and a lot of the potty training is based on the parents!!!!! |

If you really regret the poor baby, give her to someone on here. I would take her in a heartbeat. |

I really don't see why you seem to be panicking. I am sorry your were deceived but your talking about a 5months old pup. How could it be possibly house broken? It should be easy to do if you start right away. Buddy was 4 1/2 months old when I bought him from a pet store. I had him housebroken in 4weeks! He was never outdoors or walked on grass. Had no problem at all. Actually it went faster than having a 12wk old because he was older and learned faster. Hang in there you should not have a problem at all. |
for once i am speechless... :( :( and a little sad, really. Remember WE are the educated ones. We have the world at our fingertips when it comes to getting information from the internet. I feel for the poor puppies. Any puppy is a huge committment. They require so much love, guidance and attention at least for one year, regardless of the breed. Puppies are only as good at their trainers. Perhaps the puppies ARE NOT the problem here. |
I got my first yorkie at 6 weeks, never had any problems with her at all...she's never chewed, and was the best puppy, and even picked up using the pee pad within 2 weeks...which, is very unusual I know! Something has that little dog very upset! |

Let me repost this message from a different thread.. I appreciate the feedback, and I am not an uncaring owner as you all might think, it's just that I'm relaying my experiences with this dog. Seeing how that this is an Issues forum, it should not shock anyone that Issues are actually posted here. As for those that think we should find her another home: She can be a lot of fun (at times) and the kids love her to death. We are at the point of no return and would not part with her. For the most part, we have resigned ourselves to the fact that this dog (and the messes she produces) will be a part the house. Anyone else that is considering a Yorkie should be advised that they should (likely) expect a similar experience. |
I've had my yorkie 5 years, and never experienced anything like that out of her..got her at 6 weeks, by 8 weeks, she was running over to the pee pad to use it..it was consistence in working with her..The little one I just got is 12 weeks, now, I'm working with her, she doesn't roam free without me right there watching every move, you have to be able to catch them doing something wrong to correct it..if she starts to pee on the carpet, I have to pick her up and take her to her pee pad, not get on to her after the fact, as they don't know what they did wrong if you don't catch them doing the "wrong" thing..We had an obedience trainer, for our 2 outside dogs, he said if the dog is doing something wrong, it's NOT the dog, it's the onwer, and this is very true! Dogs want to please, not upset you! |

I got the first at 8 weeks...not much older than yours and it did, indeed, take at least to age 5 months before I had any signs that mine got it. I'd confine her to a crate if I couldn't supervise her...that will help considerably with accidents and tearing up things in your house. |
I dont get you sccoby??? On this thread you are stating things are so great and an hour later you post this??? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99542 I dont think the dog is the one with issues hun... Dawn |

Ugh... obviously people aren't getting the gist here. Please please stop the fighting... I don't think posting a thread about getting him fixed earlier than 10 months contridicts anything that she has said. They are getting along just fine, just a marking/humping issue still.... If you dont have kind words to give, then keep your mouth shut. :( Ok? I really don't mean to be rude but this is a forum for support and well wishes and you guys are nailing her to the cross lately... |

If you regret getting her everyday, send her to me. I'd be more than happy to take care of her. Do you think she can't sense how you feel?? |

Resign yourselves to the fact that what she is doing is not unusual for a five month old yorkie puppy. She is going to be with you for many years, spend the next six months working hard to train her and she will be housebroken. She (and having a house that doesn't reek) is worth it. Good luck. You can do it. |
I didnt get to read all the posts and so maybe this has been said already...but I got my monkey when she was 4 months old and as far as I know she was in a puppy mill and then the pet store the whole 4 months. She clearly had no kind of training but with some patience and love she became pee pad trained in about a month. Hope hes doing better soon and you did a good thing by getting him even though hes older. Im sure youll love him just as much as if he was with you from a younger age but you also gave a puppy a home who may have had a much harder time finding one. I feel like if I hadnt gotten my baby when I did she wouldnt have made it much longer in the pet shop because she was the oldest one there and many people want dogs as young as they can get them. Sorry if this made no sense...long day. |

This is rediculous, people. She is prob someone who is posting this for fun and trying to piss us all off. She has not posted anything since here rediculous post yesterday about neutering her dog. She is here to play games. and people stop responding to her posts. There are a lot of other people here who have legit comments/ questions and new Yorkie Owners that need help. Stop the insanity! |
