| The thought of this little one in constant pain must be unbearable, for me it is. If, there is absolutely no way, to fund the help that is needed and to keep her from being in constant pain 24/7 I would have her PTS. It just is not fair to have this pup suffer from day to day without the help that is needed. Perhaps releasing her to a Yorkie Rescue who would see that she gets the medical treatment that is needed would be an option for you. I hope you can do something soon to ease her pain. This is a tragic story. |

| The Care Credit is a great idea. I have really bad credit due to really bad spending when I first turned 18, but I needed to get some dental work done a while ago and there was no way I was going to be able to pay up front. I was approved for $3000 on Care Credit and the payments are pretty good- not too high. The no interest thing is nice too and I know they are pretty flexible about raising your credit limit if the doctor calls to ask. Get the care credit and take her to who ever you need to... |

| I would definitely try a different vet, i don't understand how a vet would be sending home a dog that is in that much pain. I know vets here that will just operate etc then set up a payment plan afterwards if the owner doesnt have insurance, surely there are vets in the US that will do this also.

| Wednesday Afternoon Emma Update SIGH, HEARTBREAKING DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO HOW WE FEEL ABOUT EMMAS CONDITION. SHE IS SIMPLY LAYING ON HER SIDE WITH A BLANK STARE. NO LICKS TO MY NOSE WHEN I GET UP CLOSE TO HER, NO RESPONSE TO SHOW ENERGY OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. WE ARE GOING TO RAISE THE CRATE UP SO THAT SHE CAN SEE AROUND HER AS SHE SEEMS TO STILL NOT BE ABLE TO LIFT HER HEAD. i WILL LOOK INTO THE CARE CREDIT THAT SOME OF YOU HAVE SUGGESTED... THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT BY THE WAY. I DON'T FEEL RIGHT TAKING $ DONATIONS RIGHT NOW... ALTHOUGH IF IT COMES TO THAT I WILL HAVE TO SWALLOW MY PRIDE AND ASK THE VEST IF THAT IS SOMETHING THAT THEY DO. MAN THIS IS HARD. AS FAR AS HAVING HER PTS (PUT TO SLEEP) AS ONE OF THE RESPONDANTS SUGGESTED, I REALLY CANNOT EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT. WE WOULD ALL BE CRUSHED... SHE'S A MEMBER OF OUR FAMILY... BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE SIMPLY CONSIDERING HER QUALITY OF LIFE. WE SAVED UP A LONG LONG TIME FOR THE CHANCE TO OWN A YORKIE AND I KNOW WE WOULD NOT BE IN THE POSITION TO PURCHASE ANOTHER FOR A LONG LONG TIME..... I TELL YA.. IT BREAKS MY HEART. WE HAVE A LAB AND A CAT AND A SEAHORSE.... ALL GET ALONG LIKE PEAS IN A POD. CRACKS ME UP TO SEE THE CAT "GROOMING" EMMA... AND EMMA LOVES / LOVED IT. IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A VET IN MARYLAND, DC, NORTHERN VIRGINIA, DELEWARE OR NORTHERN WEST VIRGINIA WHO DOES PRO BONO WORK PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. PHOTO'S ARE AS OF TODAY 9-5-07..... TELL ME THAT DOES NOT JUST BREAK YOUR HEART! KEN |

| Perhaps you could contact a Yorkie Rescue group. Many times they will take your poor baby in and give it the help it requires when there is financial difficulty. I do belive at this point you would have to relinquish your ownership, but if she is in this much pain ... perhaps this is what she needs? No one wants to part with their loving pet, but to see her in this much pain would literally just kill me and I would do whatever I had to do, even if it meant handing her over to those who could help. | Oh gosh what a heartbreaking story! Poor Poor Emma! I hope you can get her the care she needs and soon too. It does stink that vet care is sooo expensive especially when you can't and don't plan on something just happening to your baby. Do you know how this happened or when? Did she play too rough with the lab or get caught on something or fall off something or jump from somewhere too high? How long has it been now? My thoughts & prayers are with Emma!

| J ust seen this post .So sorry about Emma.My late yorkie,Trixie Suffered with a slipped disc and I was told the same as you ,rest and painkillers. It took a few weeks to recover and always had a weak back. She would hurt it so easily. The arched back was the first sign for a visit to the vets for pain killer Trixie never liked moving when her back hurt.I do hope this works out for you.I know how helpless you can feel whenn they are in pain.Get well Emma

| Oh gosh, was a heartbreaking story! Poor little Emma! That sweet baby is suffering beyond what any dog should. There has to be at least one vet who will help you and Emma. Money isn't everything, especially when there is a living, breathing little girl in pain. I feel sick to my stomach over this.

| I am so sorry for you and the baby .. there are some great ideas on here .. i also would grab a phone book and call all the vets in your area and tell them you whole story .. email some .. include the inability to pay that and any ideas you have to pay it off even in Ca i found a vet who would take payments. and some who have let people work off there debt cleaning kennels doing Manual labor pouring cement... sometimes you will find a vet who values a pets love over a credit score ...you and your baby are in our prayers
