Well, 35 yrs in dogs and I would be totally freaking out!!!!! I do hope they can find out what is wrong...I am sitting here wringing my hands thinking about her yelping in pain..

it sounds like crushing disease. not good. let us know what the vet says. i will keep good thoughts and prayers for your little one

I think she meant cushing.

However, I did have a pup that did this once took a couple of vets to finally diagnose pancreatitis.

Gotta...it certainly is "crushing"... Cushings, does it produce pain like that...?

I've never encountered Cushings, so I can't give a good answer.

Is there a possibility the pup has a blockage?

RACED UP TO THE VET WITH EMMA AND BY THE TIME WE GOT THERE EMMA WAS SHIVERING IN PAIN AND THE VET SAW HER IMMEDIATLY! HER TEMP WAS ALMOST 104 DEGREES AND AFTER A NUMBER OF TESTS THE VET FEELS THAT, OF ALL THINGS , IT IS SPINAL. A SLIPPED OR EXPLODED DISK TO BE EXACT. HER BACK MUSCLES ARE ALL LOCKED UP AND SHE CANNOT LOOK AROUND USING HER NECK. SHE ALSO HAS THAT 300 YARD STARE THAT DOGS AND PEOPLE GET WHEN THE PAIN IS SO INTENSE. THE VET ORDERED 3 WEEKS CAGE REST, NO ACTIVITY, GAVE HER A SHOT OF SOME KIND OF OPIATE AND LOTS OF PAIN MEDS TO GO. wE ARE TO WATCH HER VERY CAREFULLY FOR ANY FUTHER DECLINE. SHE IS WILLING TO EAT IF YOU HAND FEED HER AT THIS POINT AND WATER BY EYE-DROPPER.

WE LITERALLY PAID WITH ROLLED UP COINS AS WIFE AND I ARE BOTH OUT OF WORK RIGHT NOW SO WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE I GUESS. WE WOULD BOTH BE DEVISTATED IF WE LOST HER... ESPECIALLY AFTER NURSING HER TO HEALTH ONCE WE GOT & SAVED HER FROM THE PENNSYLVANIA AMISH 3 YEARS AGO. THAT WAS PRIOR TO US LEARNING HOW AWFUL THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE AMISH & THEIR PUPPY MILL OPERATIONS. EMMA WAS SO CLOSE TO DEATH WHEN WE BOUGHT HER THAT WE NURSED HER BACK TO HEALTH PROBABLY A DAY OR 2 BEFORE SHE WOULD HAVE DIED , SO SAID THE VET 3 YEARS AGO.

SO... I WILL GO GIVE HER SOME PAIN MEDS AND PRAY FOR HER TO GET BETTER. THE VET SAID THAT THERE IS A TEST USING AN MRI AND DYE THAT COULD BE OF HELP IN DIAGNOSIS AND ALSO THE POSIBILITY OF NECK SURGERY HOWEVER THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AND IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO HANDLE FINANCIALLY. FINGERS AND TOES ARE CROSSED THAT SHE MAKES IT THROUGH THE WEEK.... HER PAIN LEVEL SEEMS TO ME TO BE UNBEARABLE.... I TELL YA... IT JUST BREAKS MY HEART!

Peanut has cushings but he never arched his back, they did think he had a stroke the way he dragged his leg after he had a seizure, but no arching like that...hopefully they can get her some relief...

That por baby, Ill pray that the pain stops for her, It just breaks my heart to know she in so much pain.
