| I just want you to know that I have been in your shoes, and I never went through with the MRI. We couldn't afford it, and couldn't get approved for any assistance. But, what I asked my doctor was, what would you find out with the MRI, and what would we be doing about it? In my situation, they told us that whatever they would have found with the MRI that they would have treated it with prednezone, so that was the much cheaper route to recovery for our little one. And it took a long time to get her up on her feet again, over a week! She still has residual effects of her problem, later diagnosed as menengitis, but not for sure since we never went through with the more expensive testing. Her bark is different, she can't see very well out of one eye, and she gained quite a bit of weight from the steroids. But she thanks us every day for doing everything within our power to help. And we were patient and calm, and that was the best thing for her. I tried so hard to stay that way around her, even if it was tough, and it made all the difference in how she felt and now she feels closer and more secure with me because I was there with her the whole time. I saved my freak out time for when I wasn't with her. And I agree with you that you have to give her every chance you can because she is young! Mine was just under 2 years old. I truly believe that you are doing everything within your power, and I think your little girl knows that too. My heart is with you, and wish I could offer more help than just kind words. Everyone raises their young in different ways, and you have to know and be firm in what is best for you! Remember, God is in control, just give it up to Him! Much Love!!!

| mistyinca Care credit does not seem to be a viable option... things are however looking good for a short term loan from a local private "lender" ! That gives us great hope too!!! Thanks for your post! |

| My mom was the one that gave me that advice to ask when we were in your shoes. She has been caring for the elderly for about 15 years, and they had an amazing doctor who would always discuss what tests would lead to before having them done. There isn't any reason to do expensive testing when you can try the remedy beforehand. I'm not saying this always works, but it is a good question to ask for those who can't afford to solve every health problem that they have!

| Hi ken, i don't think anybody on here is being mean but progress for taking up offers of help or telling us that you have tried the contacts people have suggested some being suggested a few times does seem to be slow but if this isn't the case then maybe just popping a post saying that you have tried each suggestion may be useful then people will know you are doing what you can. You have to understand it makes for hard reading when you are telling us that Emma is in agony crying in pain just staring into distance. Personally i wouldn't budge from a vets until they got her sorted out. Ive seen a few times people ask for the name of your vet but i haven't seen it given. You may find there would be enough donations if you give the details. Surely pride wouldnt allow you to leave a loved pet in THAT much pain.

| DEAR buddybramble, It has been so busy around here that it's easy to forget.... our vet is away till tomorrow but since you asked, we use Advanced Veternary Complex on Main street in Reisterstown MD. We are trying several avenues for her to get the help and i am glad you brought that up. I'll be talking with Emma's vet when she returns tomorrow... the note to call us is already on her desk ! Thanks for your very kind words. |
