| I am glad to hear Gizmo is ok. They do get into everything! I bought an xpen last winter and while I don't use it to enclose them very often, I do use it as a gate. I open it up and use it to block them in the kitchen & laundry room area (Angel has been chewing up my carpets during the day) and use it to block the opening on our patio so they can play outside. Best investment I have made for them. I use it everyday. Last wednesday I didn't use it and Angel got into chocolate and got very sick. So they are back to being in the kitchen. Hugs from Bailey & Angel

| Gizmo is doing very well. Yay!! He has had solid poop for two days. He ate enough food today to make up for not eating for the past couple of days. His urine is back to normal, and he seems completely back on track with hydration. We are continuing the vita k tabs and will until the prescription is finished (a week and a half from now). No spots in his ears or on his belly (tell-tale signs of internal bleeding). I was also very impressed this afternoon. The emergency clinic that treated Gizmo for the poisoning last week called to check up on him today!

| That is wonderful Judy! Coby got a "missed-during-puppy-proofing" Terro ant bait on Sunday and all I could think of was Gizmo! (BTW, the Terro site states that it's boric acid and should not be harmful to people or pets. Saved me a ER visit or a poison hotline charge!).

I really thought I had combed this place from top to bottom, but you really never know. Our whole family takes keeping an eye on him very seriously now. We no longer assume that the house is "puppy proof". lol I doubt there is any such thing!

| So glad that Gizmo is doing well... I'm sure your regular vet will do a check-up after he's done the Vitamin K that you have -- but if not, please ask them to do a test on his "clotting" (I forgot what the test is called) I went through this a year and a half ago -- and Toby had to take the Vit K for about 3 months. They told me to watch out for bruising on his tummy, as that is also a sign of internal bleeding. It sounds like you caught it early enough, and it probably all came up with the throw-ups at the clinic... just do the test for your peace of mind -- if the vet doesn't suggest it! |
