After trying a couple of indoor "pens" and not liking the look or the lack of visibility, (we have a wide open doorway) we bought a "fence" from the petstore that is designed to be an outdoor pen. It's made by Precision Pet Products. It has a nice walk-through gate. It's made to be a pen, but we made it into a long fence that goes across the large opening between our kitchen and living room. It worked out that we could use a heavy duty magnet on the fridge for one end and one small nail at the bottom right into a crevice in the molding on the other end. It's a brass metal, so it isn't a whilte plastic-y eye sore and has just a few horizontal bars (I'm always leary of horizontal for climbers) and leaves total visibility. It works well for us.

Gypsy has a gate to stop her going where we don't want her to. She has free roam now though and has done since she about 4months because she could NOT tolerate being in a crate. I've seen some gates that are extendable... I just forget who makes them!

Glad little Gizmo is still doing well. The tales of our dogs - it was like reading a drama going through all these posts since Gizmo got sick!

Maybe Chris could invest in one of those plastic cord bundlers for his room so little Gizmo can visit him. I have one for my computer 'cause otherwise it's too scary looking with all those cords laying around behind it. It's like a hard plastic sleeve that the cords go into.

Remington was actually one of the names I considered for Gizmo, but silly me was thinking of Remington Steele....does anyone remember that TV show? lol

Just to be clear, I meant no disrespect to your Remi or Judy's almost-Remi-Gizmo. I love the sound of the name. (And yes, Remington Steele is what I would think of - uh oh, shows my age.) It was only the combination of that poster's dog's name, hobby and occupation, and previous post.

.... And I'm sure not coming to your house in the middle of the night! I don't wanna get a headache from getting hit in the head.

No problem . I love Pierce Brosnon and Remington Steele was one of my favorite shows. When I was trying to come up with a name, I wanted to keep the gun tradition going. I thought of Luger, but that just seemed wrong . As soon as I thought of Remington, the old show came to mind and that was all there was to it. I am getting ready to send in his papers and was going with Sir Remington of Bellawin (mommy is Bella, daddy is Winchester) and realized the kennel is Winnabell. So, I came up with Remington's L'il Silver Bullet (L'il and Silver are in many of the names in his pedigree). Anyway, I like it .

Lol, not to worry, my aim isn't that great. I'd be better off investing in a Bazooka or a stinger - I'd have a much better chance of coming close to hitting a person with a really big weapon . As for the bats, with my luck, the nite I got robbed would be the one nite the bats wouldn't show up .
