| Surprise Babies! So I took my baby to the vet thinking she was pregnant and I was going to have them follow her pregnancy very closely because she's so very tiny. She only weighs 4.1 lbs and I had a very hard time deciding to let her breed because I know the danger for her. The vet in my opinion was very sloppy doing the ultrasound (while Paris was slumped in a crouch she just stuck the wand between her front legs) and quickly stated nope she's not pregnant. So I trusted that she wasn't and aiwed her to give her rabies vaccination along with her distemper, Bravecto and a yearly heartwormer....my total bill was 300.00. She was very since then. She has had some moments of playful times but mostly has not been herself. Since the vet had told me she wasn't pregnant I assumed she was just sick from the meds given. Yesterday my baby woke us up whining very anxious pacing the bed and extremely clinygy to me! She is constantly licking us. She goes everywhere I go normally. She is not left alone very often but she seems to be scared I'm gonna leave her. She now clearly has a baby bump and I can actually feel the pups. Her milk has not came in yet but I read up on vaccinating pregnant dogs can cause lots of problems and early labor. She was bred between 9/6-9/10 I was in the hospital so I'm not positive on the exact date. She would be too early if she is having them but again this morning she's franticly pacing and licking us and starting some heavy breathing when she does lay down to rest. This is her first time and mine as well. I've read everything I could to prepare and I've gotten her a safe quiet place to deliver if that's what's happening. Or is she just starting to feel them moving and that why she is acting this way? |

| Just my opinion, but with such a tiny dog, she shouldn’t have had all those vaccinations & medications at the same time even if she wasn’t pregnant. You already know that your dog was too small to breed safely, and you must also know that it’s far too soon for a successful birth if she was bred in early September. She needs vet care now. |

| She only gets half of her vaccinations due to her size. Yes I am aware that he shouldn't of gotten them if she is pregnant....if you read my post I took her to the vet for confirmation after breeding. The vet was positive she was not pregnant and that is why I chose to vaccinate her...now weeks later she seems to have a bump but as far as I know she's not....I just hope it wasn't to early to see the babies on the ultrasound... |

You came here and posted all this stuff about your yorkie. I am not EVEN going to get into the reasons why you should not breed. There is SO much more than size being a consideration. What I will simply say is you posted saying your dog was restless and panting. Whether pregnant or not, she sounded to be in distress and you SHOULD have contacted your vet and had her examined.

| By the way: a "bump" is not the way to tell if a pup is pregnant. If that is what you think is the way to tell, you really need to learn a whole lot more before attempting to breed her again. She could DIE if you don't know what you are doing. She could die even if you do, but you really need to educate yourself about breeding.

| She is in distress and needs vet care. A four pound yorkie should never be pregnant and her life is at risk anyway let alone her being in distress. All those vaccines should never be given at once. Also not reputable vet gives half doses because vaccines are about the immune system not the size of a dog. I hope she has been to the vet by now.

You said in your initial post that you can actually feel pups, and now you say “as far as you know” she’s not pregnant. You said in your initial post that you have already set up a place for her to deliver, but you don’t believe she’s really pregnant? You also said in your initial post that she’s frantic, pacing, licking and breathing heavily. Basically, you keep making statements that make no sense and/or contradict yourself. I sincerely hope your poor little dog will survive this. Last edited by Bluebells; 10-23-2020 at 05:41 AM.

I knew my dog was bred (while I was hospitalized and unconscious for 10 days!!!) The vet telling me no she wasn't pregnant I wanted to trust since I pay her very good money....but my gut instinct said my girl was pregnant! I didn't want to doubt my vet but could not afford another visit. My dog could of been in distress but I promise you she was not in danger and we survived that moment. I also saved myself another 500.00 vet visit bynit rushing down according to your "recommendation" sorry but some people come here for logical helpful advice because either they don't have the money or can't afford a vet visit. My post clearly stated I thought she was pregnant because I knew she had been bred....there were many signs but I just needed advice and tried to narrow down the whole story..... All this being said if this is the type of advice and friends on this website I think I'll find a better place to search for advice before I come her for you to judge my conpetitency or character by reading a rushed post during a panic fear I had concerning my baby! Have a nice night and maybe don't spend as much time on here and more time playing with your fur babies like I do.

| Good grief. Are you paying any attention to how contradictory your statements are? You had a very hard time deciding to breed your dog ... but she was bred while you were unconscious, so it’s not your fault. You live for this dog ... but you came here for advice because you didn’t want to incur another vet bill. She’s been exhibiting alarming signs of ill health since your first post above ... but you “promise” she’s not been in any danger. The more you post, the less believable you become. |
