| Difficulty getting ear drops in, they are thick and she doesn't like it The vet suspects Maggie has an ear infection, though it may just be vestibular syndrome (she is 10.5). She has developed a head tilt most of the time and her birthday listening tilt is even more tilted, but she isn't walking in circles or anything. Her got a good look in her left eat, but she wouldn't let him get a good look in her right ear ( should have done right first--that's the tilted side. He gave her Baytril drops just in case it's infection. She is fighting me and the drops are so thick. I can't see when one drop comes out so I have to stop in between drops. She needs 5 twice a day. She has floppy hairy ears which makes it harder to see when a drop comes out and to find the opening. Any tips? First time ever needing ear medication! |

| I am doing drops for my guy Vetericyn,VF. Fortunately it's thin like water. My pup has standup ears with thick fringes on them. I sit on the sofa where there is good lighting, lay him across may lap on his side. You have make sure all the hair is away from his ear canal, which is not an easy task. I find laying my kid across my lap on his side gives me the best view of the inside of his ear and I can see the drops. Hope this helps you.

| @matese..unfortunately Maggie is only a lap dog when SHE feels like it. She will lie nxt to me, or between hubby's legs, but she knows when I'm up to something. I will keep trying! Maybe I'll have to see if they have different drops if I can't get these to work. Maybe tbecause the thick is heavier it will have a better chance of finding it's way down though, rather than getting absorbed into her hair...or maybe not. |
