I stopped at my vet today with Piper. (been running all morning with pups and Piper needs to eat every 2 hours or get nutrical so she is traveling with) While talking to my vet about her, she offered to check her glucose. It was 105

So excited !! :)

Way to go Linda and Piper! This whole recovery has been amazing. Zoey and I will keep praying for continued wellness.

You go, Piper! So happy to hear that she is doing well! Such a precious, precious baby girl. She truly is a miracle!!! Linda, don't forget to take care of yourself, too! We can't have you getting sick...too many little ones depending on you!

105 is great. How is the appetite keeping up?

Fantastic. Hopefully her liver enzymes will return to normal too, once whatever mystery thing that caused this has cleared.

I understand the liver can regenerate itself to some degree, and even if she turns out to have MVD she can still live a long life under medical management.

Thank goodness nobody gave up on Piper when she was so sick.

She is eating pretty well....today was her best day. I was at GCVS with a new broken pup and had taken her with me so the specialist who cared for her saw her. He was pleased with how she looks. She is so alert and active ... I have not seen one even small hint of problems with her.

I am hopeful that perhaps that last antibiotic they started that Wed before she was discharged is what made the difference and that she is on the mend. Time will tell. But, for now, she is doing really, really well!

Yes, she is lucky that her vets and her mom knew that Piper was not ready to leave us.

I'm content, relieved and sincerely happy for all concerned. Piper amazes me...and Linda may you be blessed. Bobbie I am so very pleased that you stumbled upon YorkieTalk, the help you've received, the many thoughts and heartfelt prayers given and your persistence to save your baby astounds me. Did I ever welcome you properly to our YorkieTalk family? Well...welcome home.

Kathy, thank you for welcoming me. I really don't know how I would have made it thru all of this if not for Linda and YT. I was at such a loss on what to do with my baby. I can't wait to get mommy kisses tomorrow. She goes back to Dr. Friday for a checkup. Her spirit is alot healthier than her liver. But, with time and love she will be back to our normal Piper girl.

Piper is coming home for the weekend
 
I'm so excited. My Piper Girl gets to come home today for the weekend. She has a checkup tomorrow to make sure everything is still going good and to see if she can make it up to 4 hours without eating and still have her blood sugar hold. Linda has been so wonderful to take care of my baby for me. We have to get her to at least 5-6 hours with blood sugar holding. As I can come home on my lunch break and feed her and give her Nutrical. I know she is loving it at Linda's place. But, I'm so ready for my girl to be home.

I'm soooo happy Piper is coming home even if it's just for the week end. She will be sooooo happy to be with her family, am sure lil brother miss's her immensely.

Piper is eating everything but the kitchen sink! She ate her food and some of Cookie's and then went for Olivia's. She is doing SO well now. :) She just had a quick bath and will be SO excited to see her mama. I was talking with Bobbie on the phone the other day when I was driving. Piper was SO hyper at the time....climbing all over trying to see in the back seat. When I got off the phone she went to sleep. It was then that I realized she had been thinking mom was in the car!! I know she will be just as excited as Bobbie today...looking forward to this! :)

Linda, it must be so heartwarming to witness this little girl Piper in person as she has her miraculous recovery. It looks like there is no holding her back now.

Bobbie, I wish you all the best as Piper comes home. We all love this lil girl and think of her and your family every day.

YEAH this is GREAT new's. I am so happy that Piper is doing so well. I wish I lived closer so I could meet Piper.

How cute that Piper knew her mom was on the phone with Linda. :) Or rather, she thought her mom was nearby.

Piper went home with mom this afternoon. She texted me earlier when she was giving Piper her meds. I imagine she went to bed right after that because she has to get up early for work. (3:30AM)
So, all is well....I am sure she will be posting an update in the morning.
Dad is home with Piper tomorrow! :)
