This is us at the 2014 Bikers Against Breast Cancer Run. Piper did not get to make the 60 mile trip. But she did get to ride home on the bike. She loved it.

I love Piccolo's hat & glasses so cute, & lil Miss Piper looks like a lil angel, so cute the two of them. What a great day for Piper to be on an outing with her family.

Loved the photo and isn't it a miracle Piper has come so far and was able to participate after just being so gravely ill - all those ups and downs. I know we were all scared to death for her just like you were but we didn't realize what a tough little terrier you have. I'm so happy for you all and for all of us that we've still got Piper with us. Those vets of yours did a remarkable job with her and so did you and Tony and Linda and any others that helped. And all those prayer warriors and senders of good wishes did their part too. I'm so glad you all had a fun day with Piper and hope you all have years more of these kinds of days with her.

We were so happy our Piper Girl was up to coming to meet us. I went home at lunch to give her her Nutrical. If her blood sugar holds strong for her checkup Friday, she will be able to go all day without the Nutrical while I'm at work. She will have to have food at all times. I just ordered the Nutrical Treats. Hopefully she will like this more than she does the gooey paste. She puts up one heck of a fight for a little girl. Have to pry that mouth open to make her take it. She does not like it at all.

I've learned something today, I never knew Nutrical had treats. Must check this out for Winston, thanks! Hope Piper does well at her vet visit on Friday, as always...thinking about and praying for this wee one.

Tuesday update on Piper Girl
 
Piper woke up fiesty this morning. She tormented the cat, ate a big breakfast, and started nipping at Piccolo's ankles. She is getting back to her old self. She is taking her nutrical every 5 hours. And has food (for now) 24 hours a day. She goes in for another blood sugar test Friday. If it all goes well, she will be able to go all day without me having to drive home at lunch to check on her and giver her Nutrical. Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers. My girl still has a long way to go before I can breathe without worrying. Will be posting pictures of her progress later this week. :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:animal36:animal36:animal-pa

So happy to hear Piper is still improving and her blood sugar is holding. Did they check her liver enzymes at the last appointment on Friday? I wonder if they are getting back to normal.

Yes they check her liver enzymes on Friday. I got the report yesterday. Her ALT is now normal, ALP is at 242, down from 420, her billiruben is normal. Her blood glucose is still staying around 85. But that was after 3 hours of not eating. She will go in Friday to our vet for another blood glucose test. She is an amazing fighter. So keep the prayers coming and fingers crossed.

So good to know things are getting back to normal, and I hope the blood sugar will also stabilize. I hope this means that she is no longer in liver failure, and maybe she doesn't even have MVD. Whatever, I am hoping and praying for the very best for Piper.

Bobbie texted me on Friday .. Piper's glucose was 87 and that was after a period of 6 hours. :) I have not spoken with her...I think she must be busy and probably has not been online. I have not seen her today on FB either.

Piper went in Friday for her blood sugar. It was at 87. She is holding. She is back to her spunky little self. Have to go Friday for Liver test. But, she is eating and doing well.

It is a bitter sweet day for our house. As we worked so hard to save our Piper Girl. Our 12 year old Shih Tzu Sam was not acting right this morning. She was up walking around, eating and stuff. But, she justed acted tired. Piper being her usual self just kept wanting to play with Sam. So I decided to put Sam in her kennel so she could relax. Sam died in my arms as I was carrying her to her Kennel. Our Sam has survived Lupas, broken pelvis from getting out of our new fence when she was younger and hit by a car. She lived a long happy life.
So as we are excited our Piper Girl is doing so well. We are deeply saddened to have lost our Sam.
