Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I would look for a internist as soon as possible. I would also give him a little plain canned pumpkin to help if he is constipated.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. I'm sorry your little one is sick. I agree with everyone above about seeing an internal medicine specialist. I don't have personal experience with liver issues, but I believe 50 is high for a post BAT. One of the many possibilities is that your boy has MVD. Seizures, confusion, stomach problems -- can be liver. Definitely need a specialist to determine what is going on. Keep us updated. Praying for Elliot.

| I am so sorry your baby is so ill....time to get specialists involved...I always beat a path to our vet school...most of the vet schools are EXCELLENT.... have cutting technology and equipment and an entire cluster of specialists right there..."one stop shopping", so to speak. Please seriously consider getting him to your vet college ASAP....they can help your little fella....and you wont be hemorrhaging more money and coming up without answers.....and please keep us updated....we are all going to be concerned about Elliot now...... |

| Thanks everyone...will look into my closest vet school for sure...need to find a vet who is familiar with these little guys...he is doing a little better after they got all the stool to move...put him on a low fat food and Metronidazole Liquid. Poor thing just wants to be held...feel so helpless when they are sick and can't tell you whats wrong. I have had a problem getting him to drink...have been trying to get him to lick ice...using a little med dropper I just don't feel like he is getting enough fluid. I almost lost him when he was a puppy the first vet we went to gave him his shots all of them at once...had an allergic reaction, vomiting blood it was awful....so i get really...really scared when he is sick...will keep you all updated on his progress...thank you for your kind words and prayers |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Neck pain along with other symptoms of some concern. You said an xray, was there not done of one of the neck. Sometimes Chiara, Atlanto/Axial subluxation lay hidden even till 5 yrs old or so. I agree with Yorkiemom1 a vet school the closest to you immediately. And post prandial bat at 100 is high. How ever infection/injury and other organ system problems could contribute to a high BAT. Anyhow I certainly welcome you to YT even though it is under this stressfull situation. Let us know how you and your pup are doing.

| I would get this baby to a neurologist ASAP as this sounds like a Chiari malformation or AAI but usually AAI will show on x-ray. Chiari can & often will cause liver enzymes to be off on blood work. IF this baby has either of these conditions his/her life is in serious danger. You need to treat this pup like a china doll until you get to a specialist & again you need to do it ASAP like NOW ! |

| I agree with everyone...time for a specialist! You can look for a board certified internal med vet at the following link: http://www.acvim.org/PetOwners/FindaSpecialist.aspx Vet schools usually have clinics, and while many of them are great, not everyone has one close to them. Board certified vets in large clinics are as good!

| Thank you all again for all of your concern...I got Elliott in to specialist today...actually I went and sat in their office all day until someone saw me...determined moms are hard to say no to we have a tentative diagnoses of Microvascular Dysplasia he will need a biopsy to confirm. They are also running a Protein C, GI Profile and Urinalysis. I am very, very worried. Don't know much about what this is all about I only hope and pray that he doesn't have a bad case of it. |
