Very Sick ...Help

we took Elliott back to vet...x-ray of neck showed a spot of concern...can't tell until MRI which is Tuesday..we only have one specialist in Omaha and they are the only ones with the machine so we have to keep him comfortable until then. Rest assured all that I am doing everything I possibly can for him, if I could get him in any sooner I would, I just have to deal what I have available to me and keep him safe until then. He was fitted with a cervical collar and this morning when he woke up no strange behavior, no pacing, crying nothing a little pain wimper so we gave him some pain meds and he is resting. The vet is thinking these morning episodes are being brought on by pain due to laying still in the same position all night..so the collar will help stabilize until we can get him in to have MRI done. On the other side he tested very likely with his Protein C levels to have Microvascular Dysplasia we are also having a biopsy done on Tuesday. Your continued thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Alot of tears have been shed this week for our little man and all of your positive energy will help us all get through this.

So sad to hear of the health issues with your baby. It must be hard for you waiting for the MRI on Tuesday and seeing your baby in distress. I guess the holiday does not help! It will be worth the wait to get an expert opinion and with your tender care and the pain meds he will be comfortable and not feeling too bad. I can understand this has been a very hard and tearful time for you but he is now on the road to diagnosis and recovery, so try not to fret. Thoughts and prayers for you. Gentle hugs for little Elliott.

What a good Momma you are. Just a reminder to really really make sure that the vet KNows about the neck issue. Even without a ddx, you make sure they know about the neck pain, and the abnormality as yet un diagnosed on the Xray.
They made need to adjust their protocol for sedation....

we continue to have our rough patches...waiting for Tuesday..just trying to keep Elliott comfortable until then...lots of holding and rocking..and very llittle sleep for worried mom...I also wanted to say I misspoke previously..Elliott is going in for a CT Scan we do not have an MRI Machine in Nebraska the closest is at KSU...they should be able to see what they need to though with the images they can get. Well Tuesday has come and almost gone...Dr. had to cancel today due to emergency surgery...while I was praying for answers today...there was another family friend that needed more attention...we have our appointment tomorrow Wednesday at noon CST...keep Elliott in your positive thoughts and we will update as we learn more information on my little man's condition. Thank You All

I am so worried Elliott has these episodes it only happens once a day though usually morning...I am not sure if it is seizure, he arches his back, cries, paces, shakes..I just have to hold him until it stops..I am hoping the med's he is on will give him some relief. Sorry, just seeing this now. Cali was diagnosed as a puppy. She had hypoglycemic episodes, wouldn't eat and was not gaining weight. So her symptoms weren't typical of MVD. I am hoping you can get answers tomorrow.

Update on Elliott...we went to see the specialist today..decision was made that we have several issues at this point. The neck pain and the seizure activity unrelated to liver issue..we are going to find out first what is going on with the necksince that is causing Elliott such severe pain. Dr. thinks some disc issue involved causing extreme pain. We were to have CT Scan today but Dr. decided to do it tomorrow morning so he can do a Myelogram to see if that will show him what is causing the pain...if he needs more info he will go right into CT Scan if it shows Disc issue and surgery required he will be taken immediately to surgery suite to have repair done. We will continue on the liver diet and medication until little man is healthy enough to go through biopsy. Dr. thinks all symptoms thus far have been from the injury to neck and unrelated to the liver. They looked for that only because of breed and age. I am more hopeful today that my little man is going to be on the road to recovery and will be with us for many years to come. So your continued thoughts for returned good health to Elliott would be appreciated and that tomorrow brings us news that whatever his tests show his Doctors can fix and return him to his same naughty self.

So glad they are getting to the bottom of it all. I will be praying for all to go well tomorrow. Try to get some rest tonight...I know you must be stressed...if he needs surgery tomorrow, it will be a long day for you.
