I am happy to hear that Elliott is doing well! I know some people after a period of time back away from that 6 month retesting thing.

What you might want to do is find out how much it would be to do these tests at your vet and have them sent to the specialist. Just ask the specialist if that is ok. I have three pups with serious conditions and the specialists are ok with my vet doing the blood work on them once they are stable. She just forwards the results to them and then they call me if there is a change in treatment. It really does save me a bit of money...the tests are much less expensive at my vet.

I'm very happy for Elliott and you! So glad he's back to his ole' self!

I would do the tests for the first year to make sure he's on track... if no changes the vet will most likely drop back to a yearly test for a while.

I tend to agree, do the 6 month testing and see how it turns out, then go from there. So happy to hear that Elliott has his spunk back...Mr. Personality!!!

I thought maybe it was time to close this thread...as my little man is doing very well. Thanks to all of you for your continued support, thoughts and prayers. I will continue to update as we progress through this illness as I am sure there will be more questions and concerns as time passes. We are venturing into more happy times our daughter is attending Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and will be getting married in June and our youngest is attending school for Music Therapy we are very proud and blessed. I cherish every day I am allowed to have Elliott in my life and look forward to many years of his unconditional love and naughty moments

I will continue to keep you all updated and know that I think of you all and send prayers to all of you and your little furry friends everyday and my gratitude for all of your help.
