| YT 2000 Club Member | My prayers for you and your sweet Eliot. I am so sorry you have to go through this. Poor Eliiot. May the healing power of our prayers cover him and make him get well. How tough to hold him and not know what is wrong or how to treat it. I pray your vet will calm you with his expertise and medication. When a Yorkie is sick we suffer too. You are in my heart and prayers. |

| Test results back today and we are dealing with MVD. Not sure what this means for our little man. We have appointment for the 23rd to have treatment plan explained. I am sad today to think he may not be with us as long as we want but greatfull for the doctors and their knowledge and all of you who continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We always include all of you and those who are struggling with the health of their fur babies in our thoughts and prayers. We will continue to keep you updated, and thank you all. |

| I hope his case of MVD is not that bad. There are many pups who live long lives with MVD..it really depends on how bad it is. He and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

| We had our appointment with Elliott's doctor after his biopsy and the plan at this point is to keep him on the same liver diet and meds as he seems to be doing well on this course of treatment. We will run blood and bile acid every 6 months to check progress. Thank you all for your continued support while I don't comment often on all or any of the postings, I think of you all often and say a prayer that whatever brought you to this site you find the comfort and help as I did when I didn't know where else to turn for help. Thank you all... |

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | Keeping you both in my prayers. Cali was diagnosed at 8 months with mild MVD. She's 8 years old now and has done very well just with a diet modification.

| I know how you feel with learning the news that Elliott has MVd. Please know that these MVD dogs really can live a long time on the right diet. My daisy was very sick as a young dog, and I never thought she would make it to 5 but she will turn 13 in a few weeks! Best wishes to you and Elliott!

| Update on Elliott. He continues to do very well on his diet and meds he is his spunky self again, running the house as it should be!! Such a little man with a very large personality...I do have a question for anyone who has delt with this condition. The specialist wants to retest every 6 months bile acid and blood work. It is pretty expensive running several hundred dollars. Now understand I will and have done everything possible for Elliott to this point...we are into the medical side of his care for the MVD and Herniated Neck $11,000!!! my question is if it wont change his care at all and we keep him on the diet and the meds to manage the disease why would these tests be necessary every 6 months? We have maxed out 2 credit cards and depleted our savings at this point, we checked into insurance but with his condition already being treated it wouldn't cover any care for that. I will do whatever is best for him and if it needs to be done every 6 months we will figure out a way to do that, but just don't want to put him through anymore medical procedures than necessary. Thank you all for your help, understanding and kind words, I feel blessed to have found such a caring understanding community. |
