| Thank you! I'm thrilled! He just made me get him his dinner at 4:00 pm today - two hours early. He ate it all. Thanks! Yes, I think he's past this spell and hoping he stays well after comes off his Metronidazole. I hope it was the corn and not a liver flare-up just on its own. That's what scared me so - thinking his liver was going bad and not giving much credence to the corn. Scared, I fed him almost pure hepatic food for two days rather than the half and half he usually eats and then he got the mucus stools and then had that diarrhea and was in just a mess, likely due to the higher fat content in the hepatic food, according to Crystal, and I think she's probably right. Hoping the rest of our year is calmer, for sure.

| Tibbe's having a bad day today. Vet said it was okay for Tibbe to have his Heartgard yesterday while on his Metronidazole and I gave it to him about 9:40 am and his Metro about 6:30 pm or so. He acted fine the rest of the day, ate dinner, played a lot, etc., but today, he's not eating or drinking and isn't playing. He was so hungry yesterday he demanded a full second meal last night and ate if every bit, wanted more. He's alert and jumping, moving as usual today just not interested in his food or water. Thankfully he's not vomiting or having diarrhea but he's just not even asked for his breakfast or gone into the kitchen near his bowls of kibble or water. He's unusually clingy just as when he feels bad.

| Keeping Tibbe in my prayers, Jeanie. His tummy gives him such fits. ![]() I disagree with your vet on giving the heartguard while he's already taking meds for a bad tummy. I know it's too late to say that but I do. Hugs and love to Tibbe from me and Mandie!!

| I know. I was scared to give it. We put it off a few days but it came down to "have to" and so she said go ahead. I was scared not to give it and scared to give it! Afraid to go any longer, though, here in Texas. And he got it early yesterday! No probs until today and I don't know for sure they are related but thought I'd post to see what you all thought. I just don't know anymore - everything seems to be going wrong with him lately, poor little boy. He's been through a lot this last year and a half.

Shelled veggies are a lot harder on the digestive system than unshelled. Some dogs cannot tolerate soy at all either.

| Oh no, poor Tibbe. Sometimes if Mimi eats really good one day, she won't have much of an appetite the next day, Princess does this too. The boys are hungry all the time. If it's too hot, the girls' appetites will be suppressed too...wish that happened to me. Princess sometimes refuses to eat unless I take her out walking, then she'll have a great appetite once we get back. I hope it's something as simple as the above for Tibbe & not his liver making him sick.

Good news. I syringed 1/2 cc. of water into his mouth an hour ago and he just got up and demanded some food. I hid him some kibble "treats" about the den and he searched them out and ate them - about 6 or 7 pieces of kibble and has come back to the couch! That's encouraging! Now, I pray he keeps them down and doesn't get sick or anything. I hate living like this and I can't imagine how awful it is for him. Poor little guy. He is kind of playful right now. He usually gets feisty after eating. Oh, please stay that way, Tibbs!

| He just ate some more. He's pretty frequently looking back at his bottom this early evening. He was lying on my stomach sleeping, jumped up suddenly and tried to bite at his bottom and ran to get into his airline carrier, which always stays between the couch and the wall in a corner of the room. I got him out and felt his anal glands - felt full and hard. I tried expressing them and got a bit of liquid and odor but not that much. I have gently tried a couple more times but still feel the fullness there. If I ask him if he wants me to "scratch his butt", which is what I called expressing his anals, he comes running and sort of presents his bottom area to me! Wonder if he was just not eating or drinking or playing early because his bottom was hurting and I thought it was from his tummy/liver? Wonder if anal gland discomfort can cause a dog to feel bad? He's not scooting at all or even really going after his bottom the way I've seen dogs with really bad anals do in the past. But with Tibbe - it never takes much of a problems before he's showing you symptoms of some kind. Anyway, we'll be at the vet again tomorrow and this time for his anal glands to see if they are maybe his reason for not eating/drinking for the first half of the day. Hooray! Maybe this wasn't his liver/GI troubles! Hoping and crossing my fingers that it could be something that simple for a change.
