Maybe bc he ate twice as much as he should have yesterday? Amounts have just as much impact on the liver as type/quality of food. IMHO, I think he'd do better with regular, small meals. If he's still hungry, maybe offer him a little bit more, not a whole regular serving, or some approved treats.
Shelled veggies are a lot harder on the digestive system than unshelled. Some dogs cannot tolerate soy at all either.
