| Vomiting, not eating, diarrhoea, stomach acid Hey! It seems like when we get rid of one problem, we get another one. And I'm getting really nervous and worried. Approximately two months ago I changed my baby Jackies (one year old female yorkie) brittle. At first she liked it, we had no problems, but then she got diarrhoea. We changed her brittle to the old one, but she refused it. Eventually she stopped eating brittle, wouldn't eat anything else and she started vomiting yellow bile. We took her to the vet and he said that she has too much acid in her stomach, gave us some advices and prescribed her some medicine that we took for 14 days. We also gave her a pill against internal parasites and bought her some canned food. Everything went well, we just gave her the last medicine for her stomach and she just turned worse. She is not eating again and now she has diarrhoea. She is moody and I'm so worried that she's not eating. Did any of you had the same problems? I don't know what to do.

| I really don't have much knowledge and think she needs to be checked again by your vet. ...but I may suggest some boiled chicken and plain rice. Also some cooked pumpkin settles the digestive track..both for diarrhea and constipation. See if she will eat that, it could be she is very picky or it could be the changes in her food. I have read some vets prescribe anti acids or probiotics My vet said some yorkies are very difficult in that they are picky Eaters The bile shows her tummy is empty...the acid could be from that too.. Hope she feels better

| Thanks to both of you. I'll try out some of your advices and see if she gets better. But I'l still probably take her to the vet tomorrow. I have some updates too. A few hours ago she threw up a big chunk of food from yesterday. After that she pooped two times, both diarrhoea (pure liquid), one of them was really bloody. I am so worried ...

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry to hear your baby is sick. My Roxie has acid reflux. Her vet put her on a dose of steroids to stop any inflammation, an acid blocker, prilosec and probiotics. It has helped a lot. Roxie has been on the meds for a couple of months now and we are weaning her off to see how she does. Maybe a longer course of treatment is needed. I would try and see a vet asap with the bloody diarrhea. I hope she feels better soon.

| Sounds like HGE, she needs to be admitted & be on IV fluids...any food will make her throw up & have bloody diarrhea...but there's so many other diseases that have the same/similar symptoms, like parvo, salmonella, whipworms, giardia, etc. Even if it's not any of the things mentioned (& it should be ruled out), vomiting & diarrhea in a small dog can be very dangerous bc they lose so much fluids in such a short amount of time & can get dehydrated. IDK if any home remedy or pumpkin will help w/runny 'pure liquid' bloody diarrhea now (sounds like she took a turn for the worse?), she needs to see a vet asap, she is not well. I hope she'll be ok!

| When Rosie had the bloody diarrhea, pumpkin didn't help. It did require a vet visit. . And it can be many things. My vet ran blood work tests to figure out what was happening with Rosie.

| We do have an ER vet in my country, but here where i live they get really annoyed if you call them on Sunday evening. I called him once when she was acting drunk (half year ago) and couldn't stand on her legs (she just collapsed on the floor) and he wouldn't take her. He said i should stay at home and that i panic too much. Can you imagine that?

Like BabyGirl Rosie suggested, keep her hydrated. If she hasn't eaten for some time, give her some bland overcooked white rice, almost like porridge & a veggie if you think she can tolerate it (carrot or green beans) to get her sugar level up & to get some moisture into her as well. Cook everything in some water in low heat to make a porridge. Since it's Sunday night there, maybe you can wait til Monday morning to take her in to your vet, praying she'll be ok.
