| Yorkie with scabs on skin I adopted a 15week old yorkie and when I got home I noticed she had scabs all over her body and she is very itchy. Her hair is very thin and oily, need a little advice on what to do to help her she acts fine and is very playful just looks yucky. Any Advice???? |

| She needs to be seen by a vet! Even without a skin issue I would suggest that you take her to a vet for a check up. Good luck and welcome to YT.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh goodness, please get to the vet ASAP!! She could have mites/mange, pyoderma (skin infection), ringworm (contagious to humans and other pets), and sooo many other things. DEFINITELY GO as soon as you possibly can. When the skin is erupting, there is a darn good reason, unfortunately....and it needs treatment before it turns into something really bad. Best of luck and please keep us posted!

| This evening I took Miss Mini, who has severe allergies amongst a multitude of other things, to the vet for a "rash" 3 pimple like bumps, and she was red, flipped her over and a couple of large red spots, looking closer...anyways, she has Pyoderma for about the 100th time. This can quickly become an issue. Bottom line is it is not normal and needs to be diagnosed and treated it isn't from "nothing". This is a staph infection and only antibiotics can cure it. I'm not saying that's what your pup has but I'm willing to bet it probably is...
