Continuing prayers for Eddie. I totally understand about not wanting to leave them overnight. Jenna just spent four days and nights in hospital and I think she's returned a wreck. And that's even at a place where everyone adores her.

I really hope a good solution can be found and that Eddie's surgery will go well and he'll be home and recovering with you soon.

Oh, man. I'm so sorry to hear this.

Sending good vibes for Eddie-man, and hope everything runs smoothly. It's so worrisome when they have to have any kind of surgery, but especially since you've already been through this once. I'm so sorry.

Just now seeing this Mike. I know you will make the right decision for Eddie. I would have a head time leaving unattended. I would opt for my baby to be a little sleep deprived but monitored. -I think. - even as I type this I'm going back and forth in my head

Oh Mike, you and Eddie are in all our thoughts and prayers. Tough decision about the over night thing, but I might add that patients don't go to the hospital to rest, they go there to get care, and they rest when they get home.

I don't know if I could leave my baby alone all night after a surgery - tough call - but we know you will do what you think is the best for Eddie in the end.

Cudos to you Mike. Glad to hear you made that decision. That's what I love about the orthopedic doctor we take the girls to, they have a staff of doctors 24/7, and I don't mean an assistant, I mean each doctor specializes in a certain field.
I know your baby will be just fine. It takes a few weeks to heal, but well worth them not suffering with pain.

Aw Mike, I'm sorry Eddie has to go thru this again. I wouldn't know what to do either about having him at 24/7 hospital or not. Hope everything goes well for next Monday.

A quiet office for rest is fine as long as the dog doesn't start to _____ or run ____ ______ or ____ really bad or any one of the sundry things that could happen the night of anesthesia and surgery. Those babies need someone to check on them frequently and you are absolutely wise to have your Eddie where a human being will go check on him with regularity and attend to any needs, none of which he will likely have. But if he does, he's moments away from it all getting taken care of quickly and without a prolonged, hours-long wait. There is no way I would leave a fresh post-op dog unattended for over an hour, let alone overnight! I'll sure be sending prayers and best wishes for Mr. Eddie! Got to get this guy back to romping in the snow with Jillie!

Just wanted to say don't worry about his age for the surgery. Columbo had both legs done last year - first one in May and second one in September and he just turned 9 in October. He had both LP and torn ACL on both and did great. Recovery was not bad at all. His legs are 100% now. Eddie looks like a healthy, strong guy. I'm sure he'll do fine.
