| Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Surgery is set for next Monday. I'm confident I have a great surgeon at the best facility in the state. They wanted to keep him overnight in an empty office, but I elected to transport him to a 24/7 facility so someone can keep an eye on him. The surgeon said he'd be better off with the peace and quiet of an empty office, but I'm not comfortable leaving a heavily sedated dog unattended. Hope it's the right decision.

| You're definitely wise to do the surgery and take him to a surgeon and a 24 he hospital. We did this with our Barney who was 11.5 at the time. I am glad I did it, he is now almost 13 and walks perfectly. Best wishes!!

I may wait and see what time he comes out of surgery and how long the surgeon's facility will be watching him. If he's out of surgery by noon and someone will be at the facility until 10 or 11, I'd be more inclined to leave him there. But if he's the last surgery of the day and doesn't come out of anesthesia until 7 or 8, I'd be less inclined to leave him there overnight. I just know I'll be a mess waiting for them to open at 6:30 a.m. if I leave him there.
