| Awww, sending get well thoughts for Mikki. Thank goodness you got her to the vet quickly, they can go downhill SO quickly. I hope that more folks will listen about going to the vet, everyone seems to want an "internet cure" that could cost their baby it's life Yes, pets and kids always get sick/injured on holidays and weekends

| Sending prayers for Mikki girl. You are so right, Rhonda. It's best to take them in. I hope she's back to her self in no time.

| I just pray that others get the message here. I couldn't believe how quickly she went from being fine to almost needing IV fluids. I am having to give her fluids by syringe right now. That was the only way he would let me take her. What they need to understand is it is not ok to come on here and ask advice for a week. It just may be too late. And like Cathy said, the bill is only going to get higher as they get worse.

| Something else I learned from all this. I got Mikki in July. Every one here knows that Rosie is my baby. My total love and sweetheart. I always thought Mikki was a daddy's girl. Boy she wanted momma being sick!! But I learned how much she too has stolen my heart and how much I love her!! Oh, and I found out that Rosie is totally jealous of momma babying Mikki!!!

| Poor baby! Hopefully she will feel better soon. I'm right there with you. A few years back Cooper's throat was bothering him I didn't take him to the vet as fast as I should have. He has a very high temperature and I was shocked when I got there! Thanks for posting this as a reminder for everyone.

| Wishing Mikki a very speedy and uncomplicated recovery! You are so right about addressing issues right away -- Last fall Cali had diarrhea & vomiting one evening - got to the vet the next day - 5 day of fluids and many tests in the doggie hospital! Just turned out to be an intestinal virus. These little pups can go down soooo fast it seems.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I'm so very happy you were able to get her seen promptly. Is she still running a fever? I'm with you on prompt vet attention. Fevers in dogs of any size IMHO are a red emergency. With female dogs that is sometimes the only sign you get for something called stump pyometra - although rare it does happen to spayed females. Prayers going out for you and your gal.

Yorkie Talker | I have a 4 1/2 mo old FM Yorkie Gidget, I was getting ready to go to work one morning and she went potty and the first stool was ok then the second one was dieriea with blood. I had her to an ER doctor with in 2 hours. They said it was from giving her treats, I thought that I had purchased good treats then I went to the cubbard and looked and the ingriedents was nothing but bi priducts! The ER tested her for ParvO and put liquid under her skin for dehydration. She tested negative for parvo but the bottom line here is be very careful of what you feed your little ones. My vet also advises against doggie parks for little dogs. Lots of dieseses. Gidget tested posative for Colitus, Instional infection and was put on antiobitics. I now feed her food that includes rice. |

| Oh my gosh how scary. I don't wait at all, I know they can't speak and if they aren't acting normal it means somethings wrong, get to a vet. I am so glad she is ok! They always go to Momma when somethings wrong!

| Glad she is doing better. Sending prayers for little Mikki. You can add chicken broth on her chicken & kibble, too, in order to up her fluid intake, but I'm sure you already knew that.

| Good thoughts and prayers for Mikki. That was really smart to get her in right away especially with those limited symptoms I dont think most would think of dehydration happening

| Well, we are now cutting back on her food. She has since thrown up. So I am going to continue with fluids and try food later this evening. Hoping it is from the meds and nothing else. If she is not better, the vet wants to see her again in the morning.
