| Thank you!!! GEAUX TEAM CALI! UPDATE: The phone call with Katelyn tonight was actually very informative and I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I reallly needed it cause I was getting depressed being back home without my whole family. So Katelyn said this morning with Dr. Shores & Dr. Ortinau Cali walked on carpet and they were really impressed....as well as perplexed at what is going on with her. Anyway, they think she is almost ready to come home so I may get her next weekend....YEAH!!!! Hopefully they will get her down or off some of her meds. Currently she is on PO: Augmentin, Valium, Prednisone, Tramadol, & Dilantin. The treatments she is getting is passive ROM and some type of physical therapy. I think I can handle all of it although I'm slightly scared. I just want to do everything perfect for her recovery. On another note, I'm not sure who the student will be taking over Cali's care. Katelyn said she will suggest a 4th year student but who knows. Anyway, I hope for an 8am phone call tomorrow. Updates to follow...

| I'm so glad to hear the all the positive information, I am so happy for Cali. I looked at her pics from your outing with the sling, she is beautiful...I will feel so much better when Cali is home, so I can only imagine how you will feel! Don't be scared, imagining going through something is far worse than going through it. You have, can and will do everything necessary for your sweet Cali!

| Wonderful news and so happy for you. I guess when you are a nurse yourself, you understand the situation more and it's very frustrating in the beginning, not knowing exactly what's that cause Cali's problems. I will continue praying for you, the family and Cali, only a few more days to go and you get your baby back home. |

| UPDATE: More good news...Julie (Cali's new vet student) called and said she is starting to squat. I suppose they are noticing this when she uses the bathroom. She is holding her potty and going when they bring her outside. I think they put a pad in her cage as well. Anyway, get this.......she is favoring her right leg more. This weird "thing" that Cali is going through is reversing itself in the exact order that it has aflicted her. I just pray she goes back to being completely normally. I should get an update in the morning although I don't expect much to change. They are calling a few times a day for the muscle biopsy results and are expecting it any time now. Once they get it, med adjustment will begin so we can bring her home on the appropriate stuff. Meanwhile, I have a stressed little Mia at home. She would not let me put her in her own bed last night as she kept coming in bed with me. Finally I just gave up and let her stay in the bed with me until about 4:30am when she got in her own room/bed. I closed her gate and went back to bed. Around 6:30am she starts whining, barking, and getting anxious. I yelled for her to go night-night and she would settle down for an hour but did it again at 7:30a, 8:30a, 9:30a and then I gave up & let her in my bed. I don't know what I should do...let her sleep with me until Cali returns? What if she throws a fit when Cali gets back? Should I just try to keep things as normal as possible and put her in her room (alone)? Any advice on this would be appreciated. Updates to come...

So so happy to hear more good news! I look forward to your updates. If it were me, I would let Mia in my bed. It might be comforting to her to know that she isn't alone. She is probably wondering where her sister is. Then when Cali comes home, she can sleep with her sis again... Just my 2 cents...

| Wow this is great news and the reversal of symptoms is very interesting, I can't wrap my head around this, am anxious as you are to find out what this is. I hope Cali continues to improve. Mia (I have a Mia too) just needs reassurance, I think l would try to keep things normal, but I do think she will return to normal when Cali comes home. If they never sleep with you I'd be careful, you might end up with both of them in your bed....like me Team Cali still praying!

| It really does sound like the AI system flared and attacked those nerves/nerve sheaths, maybe even muscle tissue too, leading to the hips or legs but just didn't keep firing darts to the point of eating away nerve cells to the point of total and permanent damage and soon began to reverse that reaction, thus stopping new damage and allowing the nerves to start to regenerate. I mean what do I know but have heard that the AI system attacking is itself as serious as any other type of disease from without the body. Here's hoping whatever flare or disease process is completely over and this very, very brave little Yorkie can return to her life in every single way.
