| So far everything seems pretty good. I'm hoping it's nothing more than epilepsy because it is easily controlled.

| I"m hoping to get an appointment with them tomorrow as I"m off. They open at 7 so I'll be giving them a call first thing in the morning. Going to bed as I'm sure we'll have a long day tomorrow

| They kept him to do the MRI, CSF, and abdominal U/S today. It is her feeling as well that the BAT result was not elevated enough (40s) to cause the seizures or be a shunt, but worth taking another sample to be sure the first results were accurate. They will do that tomorrow morning with him fasting. Her main concern with knowing what is going on with the liver is to be sure that he can handle the Phenobarb. If not, she will change the meds. I hope we get some answers soon. Thank you all for the support and prayers

| I will keep your little Max in my thoughts and prayers today...and you as well. I know how your day will be spent...worrying. Try to keep your thoughts positive...I know how scary things can be...especially for a nurse. We tend to forget everything when it is our own and think the absolute worst of things. (well...at least I do...guess I should not speak for all) ![]() I hope that all goes well. Sounds like they are covering all bases and that you will have a definitive answer soon.

I had a dear friend years ago who has passed away who always told me to "pray for faith to replace my fears"...and oh, what great advice that was.

| I can't believe I didn't get notifications for this thread! Grrr! I didn't know you'd gotten the BAT results. It sounds like you have a good plan going forward. Seizures are so tricky to deal with as it is just a process of elimination to find out what is causing them. I'm sure you've already told us, but how old is Max? |

| Lesley again you are doing such a great job getting the answers. You'll soon have all of them. BTW, Teddy is on a drug called Zonisamide (name brand Zonegran) 25 mg every twelve hours. It requires no liver monitoring at all, in fact, I never have to do anything outside of treat him as a normal dog. So, if Phenobarbital is not suitable, maybe Zonisamide is worth asking about. It is a newer drug and more expensive but I am able to get it discounted through the Angell Memorial Pharmacy. BTW, Teddy suffered four severe generalized seizures in his two years of life that involved his whole brain before he was placed on Zonisamide and it has worked very well to eliminate his seizures so far. I'll be checking for your updates!
