| It was definitely heartbreaking to watch that video again. He looks scared to death...not my happy go lucky guy at all. I don't that its normal to have barking with seizures but that was more like a yelping to me. I believe that's why the vet referred to it as "atypical". Either way, abnormal or inappropriate behavior can be considered part of a seizure. I'd love to know everyone's names that have been so supportive...PLEASE

That was such quick thinking to have been able to have the mindset to be able to video his episode. I noticed the head shake immediately. I'm so glad that he continues to do well and that his meds are helping him.

| Oh, poor, poor Max! That is exactly what Lady did when I first adopted her and she had seizures. She would yelp in fear and cower before she had one. It is heartbreaking to watch. I am so glad that pheno is helping. As I mentioned before Lady has been epileptic since I adopted her at age 4.5 and she is now 16. Her seizures are very well controlled with medication. |

Once we got Lady on pheno I never saw that behavior again although she would get agitated and pace around before she would have a seizure. I found holding and comforting her really helped. | |

| I am sorry I posted my original post. My dog's seizures were so different and she didn't even know that we were here. You dog seems to be much more aware of it's surroundings and that is why I didn't think it was a seizure. When my dog had a seizure she couldn't do anything. I am happy that you at least have an answer. I hope things go well for you. |

It is so interesting how the seizures are different in some dogs. Teddy's start with a twitch of a back leg, he falls to his side and paddles all four of his legs, and his eyes move sideways and his head moves back. It is so disturbing to watch. He finishes, shakes himself off and then goes back to what he was doing.
