Has the little guy been endoscoped to visualize the rectum and lower colon? If not, one would think they would be looking for obstructions - tumors, malformed rectum, etc. Please get your little baby some emergency help as this is cruel to have to live this way. No little animal should have to suffer that way. Best of wishes and I am praying for your little dog - and you. Keep us informed. We're pulling for you guys!

When the two of you make it through all of this and come out the other side, Basil will be the love of your life. Going through times like this with these little ones really bonds us. On the other hand, have had no problems to speak of with Tibbe and he's the dearest thing in the world to me. I am thinking of you and little Basil constantly.

I hope the specialist can help Basil right away. When I made the appointment for Pixie at the ortho surgeon they told me to fast her. They explained that the doctor could do surgery that day if needed. Which is what happened.

I am so sorry, Sherri. I am new and didn't know how to look for further pages at the time. I just learned how to start a new thread today. Was only responding to the part about your seeming to wonder about whether you should spend the money to go to the vet! Now have found my way around and found all of your posts and feel stupid. Forgive my urgent response in bold as I was scared for your dog, didn't know how to get around website and didn't know your whole story. How stupid can one get?!? I can see now that you have busted your bum getting little Basil care but I was responding at the time to those early posts. It is such a big site. Can one not respond until they have read all the posts? Is that wrong on this site? I will admit I haven't read all of the rules but I know now not to do that again. Am one for getting doggie's help no matter what the cost and that only was my motivation for posting like that. From what I'd read of your posts at the time I posted that I could not tell if you were maybe one of those dog owners who considers the vet sort of last. Forgive my newness - probably no defense to you. I am truly, truly sorry for making you angry and upsetting you in the midst of all of this horror. Lord knows you have been through enough with little Basil. Won't bother you further and wish you and little Basil all of the best, Sherri.

I did the same thing and had to say I was sorry. I was just so upset over seeing this dog in such pain and it hit a nerve. It is okay we live and learn

I know you are heartbroken and scared and how much you love your little girl. With my little girls, I didn't think I could have loved them more than I did. Once we went through something like you are experiencing with Basil, the love grew even more intense. Every second becomes so precious with them. You and Basil will be in my thoughts tomorrow. You have so many people here that are pulling for both of you and who really care.

I feel so dumb and stupid about not knowing about how to read all posts then but dogs are my passion and when I think I see someone seemingly wondering about taking a little dog in trouble to the vet, my passion overruns my deliberative skills, if I had any. It sure hurt poor little Sherri and I am so sorry for that. I hope she understands that I was acting with thoughts only for her little Basil when I thought she might be pondering about going to the the vet and had no idea there was more to the story. I can't spend too much time sitting up at the computer at any one time due to some problems of my own and I was ignorant of the whole situation but didn't know it! My heart was in the right place as to her dog's welfare but I just didn't know there were more posts about her and what she had done left to read. I was so caught up in that story I didn't poke around at the bottom of the page. Felt like a complete dummy today when I saw the 1 2 3 4 at the bottom of the page and read more. Thank you for your kind post, though. Am feeling pretty bad for hurting that poor thing in her most desperate time. I would never do that knowingly.
