| ![]() yourkieusa, you are welcome, and thank you. DO not hear that as much as I probably should!! ![]() Angeleyes, as a Veteran, one thing I learned from my Dad and the service was how sticfk up for myself. I do not need anyone to judge me or "scold" me for my actions. She had no right to do so, she does not know me, and by her actions, I do not think I would want to know her. Sorry to hear about you problem, and I am sorry that I do not have an answer... I do hope you can find someone to help or give advice... Ringo, Zyrtec never worked for our little one... Now for the update... Lastnight she started playing a little. Barking, running around, almost her old self. She slept through the night with Mom and Dad without whining or crying at the door to be let out. She again ate some canned food lastnight before bed, which made us somewhat happy. This morning, she stayed in bed with me while Mom showered and got ready. As soon as Mom went into the kitchen, she hopped down and ran to see what she was doing. Her "floppy" ears are are almost gone, one is still kind of floppy. But she knows she is going for a car ride today for new food, and to just get out of the house. So far, she is a bit spunkier and happier. No generic benadryl today, and from what her Mom said, she only got a partial dose yesterday AM. We are hoping that the next few days get even better... Will post more later today when we get home... Thank you to everyone for the advice, thoughts, and well wishes!!! |

| ![]() Almost forgot... She had an egg this morning, which she just loves, so we decided that we would start giving her and egg a couple times a week again... I personally think it will help her skin and coat... |

You said you could not do it and the poster offered suggestions. Let me please explain something so that you might hopefully understand. Some of us have been on YT for some time now and see a lot of things, some things that are beyond depressing when it comes to these little furballs that we love so much. There are people who deny treatment for their pups because of money. I have a foster who was left with a fractured leg for six months!#@@!@#! all because his owner could not afford it. Took her that long to decide to surrender him. ![]() Armyvet, you DID say that you could not continue to pay vet bills and someone responded, telling you that your pup's medical needs cannot be ignored. She offered different ways including insurance, credit cards and rescue. You obviously did not like that suggestion (rescue) and felt it was a personal attack, but it was a valid suggestion. You further explained what you meant in your statement which made perfect sense. You had written what you had out of frustrations and you would like to find answers. Money is tight, but you were clear that you have always taken care of her needs and will continue to do so. So, now we know! But the initial sentence was concerning. She was right....the pup should not suffer because of your financial status. It was a statement and was not meant to say that you were going to allow your pup to suffer. That, in my opinion, should have ended it. It did for most, but some people want to carry on about it. It is now time to let it die! The person who said it is a long term YT member who I know did not mean anything negative at all. It was merely a suggestion and honestly had I responded to it before her, I might have said the same thing. I saw your response, so my responses were different. She, on the other hand, only had your words to go by.

| ![]() I was not knowledgeable on the subject of allergies to offer any helpful advice but was reading your thread and hoping your yorkie would come around and it sounds like she has. I am so glad she is feeling better. ![]() ![]()

| ![]() Ladyjane, I will apologize for my remarks, but I felt more like I was a child being scolded than someone looking for advice. I understand about people neglecting their animals or abusing them. Beleive it or not, although I do not have the funds to continue treatment, I would find a way, just like I have before. I have missed car payments, begged for money from family and friends. Perhaps I took her comment incorrectly because of the worry for our Bailey, but that is not what I was wanting to or looking to hear. Sorry if I offended you, or upset you. I just do not take kindly to being scolded for a decision that I had not yet made. As far as i am concerned, it is done and over with. I spoke my thoughts, and left it at that, so unless it comes up again, consider it dead and burried. Now for the afternoon update... Ok, so for the last couple of days she has refused to eat her Beneful Healthy Weight formual, which she has eaten for almost 2 years, so today while we were out, I stopped to pick up new food. Purina One Lamb and Rice. I put it in her dish, the same dish she has used since she was a puppy, and she snubbed up, giving me the look as if the Princess was disgusted. But, when my Cousin put canned food in his dog's dish, Ms. Bailey proceeded to sneak in and take bites. This is the same canned food I gave her yesterday when she refused to eat. We want to stop feeding canned/wet as it makes her stools very soft, then we have to wipe and clean her causing dry, red skin... Any suggestions??? Other than that, she seems to be getting better. She is sleeping now but is on the sofa sprawled out and not hiding in the kitchen or bedroom. One ear is still semi-floppy, and the other is fine... I am hoping that over the next few days she starts getting even better and starts eating normally... |

| ![]() Try sprinkling a little parmesan cheese on her kibble to entice her to eat. You can put something soothing on her hiney, too. ![]()

| ![]() Just something to keep an eye on... my dog had very similar symptoms when he had an infected tooth- this was something that could only be seen with an xray- both me and my vet missed it at a number of visits. The face rubbing can be caused by the pain, as could the not wanting to eat dry food. I hope you find out the issue with your pup! |

| ![]() I just thought of something. You can get samples of dry food from some of the pet supply stores. You may want to try that. Or you can ask for samples online from some of the good quality dry food suppliers. You might want to look at the "Health & Diet" section on this forum to see some of the recommended foods to see which one's you may be interested in. One thing to keep in mind is that some foods contain things that she could be allergic to, such as corn, wheat, and other grains. Another thing is that mine won't eat anything in a big kibble. It has to be a small kibble. She eats Dick Van Patton's Natural Balance Ultra Premium Small Bites and lately I've been mixing in some Blue Buffalo Chicken formula. It is very small bites, too. They are both good quality foods, though not considered premium quality. She can be finicky with some of those. ![]() Good luck to you!

| ![]() I was merely saying because I had seen other remarks...and I know it was not meant the way that you took it! No reason for you to apologize...I just felt a need to say something because it really looked like a miscommunication of sorts. After you are around YT for a while, you will see things that you will not believe. You have to remember that we don't know each other and can only go by what is written...and couple that with the fact that everyone reads things differently. Often things can be misinterpreted. The person who posted what she did had good intentions ... that I am sure of. ![]() Anyway...as for food. I use Castor and Pollux .. it has tiny bits of dried fruits and veggies in the kibble and my pups love it. Whenever I bring a new foster in, they all seem to do well on it. You can get it at Petsmart. I believe in putting food down for fifteen minutes...if they eat, fine. If they don't, then perhaps the next meal. They are smart and if they think you will give them something different, they often will hold out. ![]() Natural ULTRAMIX Adult Canine Formula - Castor & Pollux Pet Works

| ![]() I hope she is feeling better. The generic Benadryl may have some coloring agent that the original Benadryl doesn't and that could cause reaction. My cousin's dog had serious skin problems and nothing they tried helped until someone told them to try T-Gel by Neutrogena, It's a shampoo for people with skin conditions and it was the only thing that helped by cousin's dog. Hope your dog continues to get better each day!! |

| ![]() Parm huh!!! Might give that a try... ArmaniMan, I actually thought about that late lastnight, but that thought was quickly banished when I saw go bonkers over a cookie... Also, when she goes for a ride, she has an eating dissorder, in that SHE EATS EVERYTHING!! LOL She ate some of her old Beneful, but not as much as she usually does. Somehow she attributes her not feeling good with her food, and sometimes she just gets finicky and decides she wants different food. Will def keep that in mind as a secondary note, especially if things do not improve over the next few days. Might take her in again and have them check just to make sure... Ladyjane, I will take your word for it, and I have no ill feelings. Stress and worry, like I said, may have got the better of me. ![]() |

| ![]() I also give my dog a tiny bit of cottage cheese, or even just some of the liquid on top of his food. It really gets him going.
