Max is Limping - Seizure Related?

Took Max to the vet. The vet says he's carrying his right rear leg. She thinks it's his back, hips, and front right shoulder bothering him. We are hoping it's just from playing to rough, but I left him there for x-rays to rule out hip displaysia. The vet will call me in about an hour and half to let me know the x-ray findings.

I'm keeping Max in my thoughts and prayers. I know you're trying to stay strong so there's no need to tell you to do that - you're such a good momma for your boys.

I'm not familiar with dysplasia, I didn't realize it could affect the back and shoulder area, too. Were those her only two thoughts right now of what it could be?

Yes, her 2 thoughts were that he injured the right side of the body playing to rough with Cooper and that we can just give him muscle relaxer & rest, or it could be hip displaysia. However I've been doing research and it seems that hip displaysia = Legg Perthes disease????? That word never came out of her mouth though.

I don't hate taking him in. I hate waiting. I hate having to diagnose my dogs for the past 2 months. My vet hugged me and said it will be ok no matter what. Another hour and I will know what is wrong.

I just learned my something new for today. I've heard of both those names but I didn't realize they were the same thing. I'm counting down the minutes with you until your vet calls.

no, i have no idea if they are the same. I just assumed that it was via my novice internet research.

And this is Legg-Perthes: Legg-Perthes Disease (Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head) in Dogs

Yeah I don't think they are the same. I kept asking my vet if Mylee's hip displasia was the same as LPD and he told me no. None of her xrays ever showed any bone deterioration which can clearly be seen with LPD.

Just got back from picking Max up at the vet. The x-rays look normal. Hips are where they should be, as are the shoulders. My vet is having a friend of hers just take a look to be 100% sure everything is where it should be.

He's going to continue taking Medicam, and now a muscle relaxer. She thinks it should be better by Tuesday.

Yet another medical relief.

So happy it was good news- was waiting to hear- he's just a baby Maybe he is having growing pains because he's getting big so fast??? It's possible I'm sure- Just a guess
