Death from a Virus

Has the OP come back yet? Why not give her a chance to explain better what happened. Like someone else sad, she came here to help her friend not get an education on NSAIDS.

My question is you said the dog had a virus, then said it had surgery, so this is confusing.

So being in the medical field I am going to gather that the dog had surgery at once time and had pain meds left over.

When the dog got sick your friend decided to give her the pain meds. Is this correct? If so then I am still confused as to why a pain med was given for a virus?

NSAIDS are given after ALL animal surgeries, that IS the pain med they give out and charge and a leg for.. NSAIDS rarely make a dog sleepy. Does ibuprofen make you sleepy? nawww

So most likely this dog died from the virus. A viral dog should not be given NSAIDS.

Well since Education on meds seems to be TaBu on here I decided to introduce my Pharmacist who is also my friend to YT and show him a few of these threads that get out of control every time someone tries to educate someone about the meds your vet gives out like candy. And what he said is that "first this dwerten person knows more about meds then most Doctors and Vets who are licensed to prescribe them" and second " These people who say it's only handfuls that are affected negatively are WaY off by a few hundreds of thousands " and his last comment was " Why would anyone argue about education on the hazards of these meds". I say Educate yourself on these meds and NoT by asking your vet but talk to a Pharmacist because not even Your Family Doctor has all the info on the meds they prescribe for you and your family, so if you think your vet knows all the hazards of the meds they give your pets you're sadly mistaken. And for all of you who work in the field, maybe you should take a look at those Ref books your vets go to for prescribing those meds you have so much faith in and you will see just how much info they Don't give because I have and it's pretty Damn scary. And for those of you who don't think you should research and question your vet, well that's just ignorance or laziness or maybe both.

Your intent here is perfectly obvious. I would suggest that you go and read posts "thoroughly" before commenting. No one has suggested that education is bad. No one has suggested that you give meds without reading about them.

This is not nonsense, it is Fact. Maybe you all should go back and read other posts to see the debating going on that dwerten Did Not start. She was simply trying to help and educate others and was jumped on time and time again by people who basically have no clue. As I said before Educate Yourself and stop acting like you think these vets are God, because they are not ! and for you all to harass others who have educated themselves is just Ignorance. There are people who Watch things happen and people Make things happen and we can see from posts who those people are . I have not seen one single person or ten for that matter who have done as much good here on YT as dwerten has. I worked in the field for many years and even though I no longer do, I still have desire to learn new things . Maybe instead of constantly belittling her we should wait and watch how things unfold instead of jumping in the middle of people trying to help and educate.. Because I have not seen her cause harm yet. If you have doubts as to what she says then I suggest you all do the research she has done and talk with your vet about your findings, as she has done. Now I'm sure some will come back and argue, witch will prove my point about Ignorance.

Peronally I come here very little now.. I learn a lot from YT, but the bashinng and always trying to get Dwerten proved wrong.. if you all look back i one little clique of people.. gee I am on not often.. do not have the time.. but each thread that dwerten gets invovled in seems like some one is watching to see where she is posting.. alert the rest of the crew alway same bunch.. and alway attack in one form or another..

If I need help.. I will be sure like many others to call debbie first..
I had a vet kill a 5 year old, and ya know why.. he had a tiny chart.. healthy dog alway.. so once a year for his shots.. he had a bad reaction one year.. and although the vet had his chart from the previous year.. yup he did not look and gave him the fatal shot...

Do I always believe vets... NOT, and never will and will have no problem calling on debbie for her to help me save a dog..

So if you all do not think that even people that come on her less often cannot figure it out and see this.. well I guess just too many let it go on and on...

When I want to buy a house, I go to a realtor, when I want to buy a car, I go to a car salesman, and when I have a sick dog I go to a vet.

I don't spend any time here trying to prove someone wrong. I am not competing with anyone here and not trying to keep score about how many people I have helped. Simply stating my opinions and helping people the way that I feel I should. I will not stop doing that. If it bothers you all so much, perhaps you can just use the ignore button.

Generally I just skip posts that just do not act like they care.. and yes I go to a vet... but near lost a new mother.. vet did not know what to do.. I was the one who saved her by asking certain people what to do.. so my believe is a vet is not alway right...

Debbie has been known to call people.. ship fed ex something needed.. and calls many and I have a huge list of people that thank her so so much... do you pend money out of your pocket to help a dog out..she is so very unselfish when it come to a dog..any dog in need.

No one is using anyone here for a vet and YoU absolutely do spend most all of your time on threads where dwerten is concerned trying to prove her wrong and belittling her and if you can not see what everyone else can plainly see here in black & white then I am speechless. I cannot recall a thread where anyone said do not take your dog to a vet, if you can find one I would like to see it.. I have seen threads where dwerten and others have urged owners to go for a second opinion or see a specialist and question the vet about conditions and or meds but never said not to take a dog to see a vet. I also recall that you tried to argue with me about weather or not Omeprizole comes in pill form and it does so you were wrong. So go ahead and hit the quote button again as I'm sure you will because that's who you are ( one who likes to argue and have the last word ) weather it's rite or wrong. And dwerten and myself and others will continue to Help & Educate others because that's who We are. And once again go back in this thread and find the Cause of the debate here, then go look in the mirror. That's rite because once again it is YoU.
And by the way there is a Huge difference between Helping someone and Threatening them and I do not believe Threatening someone in Any Way should Ever be Allowed on YT at Any Time. I also rescue animals and I have Never had to Threaten anyone to get my job done and an animal saved.

You all can try to shout me out of here and it is not going to work. The bottom line here is that someone does not like that I voice an opposite opinion. I am sorry for her that she feels threatened by me. She told me that she is on a mission to change me to her way of thinking and it is not going to happen even with the posse trying to sling mud.

One thing I want to say loud and clear to all of you who SAY you rescue and who seem hell bent on trashing me as a rescuer. WhenEVER I see animal abuse and/or neglect, I WILL report it. That is NOT a threat, it is a promise.
