Dwerten - thank you, thank you, thank you. I am going to read and re-read all you wrote and learn from it. I probably will be writing you with follow-up questions. Our Yorkie was doing quite well on Science Diet L/D (dry w/can); however, she just started the "usual" scenario of vomiting (and peeing about every 30 min) this morning. We haven't made any changes in her diet. I will also read the links you provided. Thank you again.

join those groups as peeing every 30 minutes i would take urine in to have checked and some dogs do not do good on L/D as too high in fat so get some pointers from the gals on the yahoogroups as i think many use RC hepatic over the L/D -- ask away and we can definitely try to help you as well

They haven't to ld us yet. I will find out next week and I'll let you know. I am definetly doing a lot of crying. I just miss her and my house is so quiet. I just bbought the house and I hate it now.

Thank you - I am going to take a urine sample in to be checked; previously she had urine crystals, so wonder if that is back. I will start the juice from zucchini and celery over her food tomorrow. And I was wondering if the RC (I'm assuming this if Royal Canin?) food was maybe better than the Science Diet??? Anybody else have thoughts on that - or if someone has had better results from the RC than the L/D.

I guess it really doesn't matter what the biopsy shows, since the end result won't change. Hang in there; people on here are all very nice and thoughtful; especially if you have questions or just need a little empathy. These sweet little dogs are put in our lives for a reason.

Royal Canin 14 is very good for this.
If there are any urinary/bladder issues, water can be added (or some do it anyway). It seems to be preferred to the L/D. The only problem is that RC makes many Yorkies itchy (this exact food made my girl terribly itchy), so it's really about trying to see what your pup does best on.

Dwerten suggested Royal Canin and I was thinking of changing to that.

That's good to know (about the possible side effect of itching); don't want to trade one problem for another.

I agree as we learn so much from them. I know I have more than I ever wanted to know about health that is for sure. I am so sorry this happened

Hang in there and you can look at it this way Lily's presence is in your new home and she is always in your heart

no matter where you go.

some people bake the canned L/D in the oven to feed to the picky ones but I have heard many like the RC over LD and if you want to homecook you can do the dr dodds liver cleansing diet as well with COD. I do not like tilapia as most tilapia is farm raised and best to feed wild fish as less toxins

Yes, I agree with this. Please listen to Ellie May, she helped me so much when Manolo was sick. Are you still using the fish oil caps Crystal? The 3-V fish caps? We have used them going on 2 years and my dogs have the best coats with no allergies. Crystal, give the best advise!

No, the company got in trouble with the FDA, so if we use anything now, it will be Nordic Naturals...
