| ![]() Yes, I will post the groomer info on the groomer area of forum...at a later time. I can say, it's Florida, Pinellas County. If anyone is in this area, private message me and I will say yes or no if it's your groomer. Currently, mom is still stressed and has requested me not to post his name. However, mom is starting to get mad now....and is realizing what he did and trying to get out of. The groomer "now remembers" that Chloe, being such a friendly dog and wanting to be with everyone, that she was pawing at the front of kennel and yapping, right next to dryer, because she just wanted their attention. So it's her fault. I think there was a reason she was pawing to get out and yapping...and it wasn't to be near him. Not to mention he was using a high temp table dryer on a kennel (that's a no-no). We will just let him keep talking. The vet saw Chloe again today, and wants to monitor her every 2-3 days (next visit Mon). If the skin continues to heal as it is (he has removed dead skin as he can...it's just raw now with the huge long wound), he may be able to stitch the larger wound later...but right now there is no skin to hold the stitches. Vet is a bit perturbed with groomer and was going to call him today. |

| ![]() I visited Chloe yesterday to deliver the package from Baby Blessings (Patti, Jack and the Girls), an untiring labor of love, a box full of awesome handmade blankets...which Chloe immediately started to dig into "she was thrilled with her surprise"! Attached is one pic of many. I was in awe of Chloe's progress - had not seen her in 6 days...and the healing was tremendous, must be those Yorkie Prayers. However, the vet did say surgery could be forthcoming...but they will take it day by day. Chloe was spunky when she saw me...but is still very tender and yelped when I picked her up. She has burns on the neck and under arm we are just now becoming aware of. I have other pics of her recovery as of yesterday, if you would like to see...private message me. The groomer/writer (particentral) Debi, who posted on the thread has posted the 2nd segment - very interesting info about cage dryers. I encourage you to read. Grooming Smarter: What are cage dryers? |

Her picture again broke my heart. I am so glad to hear that she has perked up and the doctor has high hopes for her recovery. It's just that this poor baby shouldn't be in this position in the first place. Her injuries are still so raw, and her little shirt. ![]() Chloe has touched more people than you know. I showed these pic to my older brother, a non-dog person, and it even broke his heart. He picked up my little boy and I heard my brother say, "don't worry, I won't let your mom ever send you to a place like that."

| ![]() Oh, how sweet is those blankets and I'm sure this gave Chloe some happiness. She looks very content in the photo and proud of her new things to dig and snuggle into. The horror under the bandage is still so evident. She is such a fighter and I hope and pray the groomer will do the right thing by her. If he doesn't you are smart in documenting with photos. Thats why we have a legal system, and he better say his prayers the judge hearing the case isn't an animal lover, and he/she isn't a yorkie owner!!!!!!! |

| ![]() The rawness in the pics above the shirt are the minor burns. The bad burns/wounds are under T-Shirt. She is a trooper..stronger than I would be under these circumstances. Chloe is already so forgiving....I just grabbed her up in my arms last night and got the best and wettest puppy kisses she could give - and gave them back to her in return :-) I love wet, sloppy puppy kisses..some people do not - but having 3 boston terriers, it's a daily thing in my house! Will keep everyone posted - I plan to go further than posting on a forum - state atty's general, legislators, etc! I was very active in the Katrina pets and helping reunite with owners (one as just reunited last year after 4 yrs battle). |

| ![]() Awww, she is so cute. Keep the Silvadene cream covering the wounds as much as possible. If you know any nurses who work in the hospital get they to bring home some stockinette. It's the long net like stuff that is used on casts, it's like at long stocking. When mine were spayed and neutered I used that you just cut the lenght you want, cut little arm and leg holes and put it on. Maybe your vet has some. This is a picture of Sissy after she was spayed:

| ![]() This is an article I posted on YT from 2005: Dog dies at groomer: What you need to know Imagine taking your dog to the groomer, you come back later and it's dead. That's what one Anderson County woman says happened to her. Lola was a three year old Bichon Frise and like a child to Debby Cash and her family. "She just loved everybody and was just a happy little, playful little dog," said Debby Cash, of Claxton. Debby's husband recently dropped Lola off at the groomer. When he came back, Lola was dead. "She was in good health, so my husband was shocked, as I was shocked. What could have happened?" asked Cash. They took the dog's body to their vet who said she died of heat stroke. "She had horrible lesions on her body. Her skin and fur had come off and she had grill marks on one side of her body where she had been laying in the crate, burned into her skin. She died a very horrible, horrible death," said Cash. "People just do not understand the risk they're taking when they allow a groomer to put their dog in a cage with a cage dryer," said Vicky Crosetti, executive director of the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley. A cage dryer is set to run for a specific time at a specific temperature. "If the animal's trapped in a cage and the dryer malfunctions mechanically, or a human fails to check the dryer, a dog can overheat very quickly and death comes fast and it's not pleasant. I just don't consider cage dryers to be safe, and I would never allow one of my own dogs to be put into a cage with a cage dryer," said Crosetti. Losing Lola is devastating for Debby and her husband. "It's losing a member of your family, and it's hard enough when they grow old and they get sick and die. But when something this senseless and this heartbreaking happens, it just makes you very angry," said Cash. Now she is just hoping what happened to her never happens to anyone else. Crosetti suggests telling the groomer you do not want a cage drier used on your dog. She also suggests asking the groomer to see the facility and watch as another dog is groomed. This is the thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...nightmare.html And more sad tales: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/off...tragedies.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...right-now.html
