| Yes, I believe that is what her vet has suggested. Hopefully she will have some more answers soon.

| Thanks for all the information. You've been so helpful. It seems like all the possible causes have all the same symptoms. I did print out the information on vestibular disease and I'm going to see if the vet thought that could have been a possible cause. |

| It sounds like your vet is doing what he can to diagnose. You are right...many illnesses have the same symptoms and it takes a very skilled person with veterinary training to diagnose ...using all of the lab and other tests that they do...along with a comprehensive physical exam. No one can diagnose without seeing a pup! The real key to being a good diagnostician is not just ordering a bunch of tests and jumping to conclusions because if they are methodical about how they work, the answer does appear. It is like being a Sherlock Holmes! Clues come up as they go along. He is the one with all of her tests and he will figure this out! What did he say today?

| I would ask about the vestibular as sometimes it is good to ask about things as well and then they can state why ruling them out -- it is teamwork many times to get to what it is as you are with your dog 24/7 and see the signs - take good notes at what you notice so when you go in you can go over quickly as many times you do not have alot of time with them so why i feel it is real important for owner to be as involved in reading up on things too so you can get to answers quickly and look for things that you may not have thought were important but may help in diagnosing |

| I think it is always good for a pet owner...or even a human patient, to educate themselves about things; and to be a part of the treatment plan. I just think that sometimes we need to trust medical people to find the clues and follow them to the correct diagnosis. Telling them to order a bunch of perhaps unnecessary tests will only lead to higher vet bills and more fear and confusion.

This is why at this point I would go to a neurologist but I would want to make sure since no blood values on regular blood work were off I would want to have thyroid ruled out since low thyroid can affect things as well and that will not show up on a blood test. The liver needs to be tested for medications that may need to be used and all liver function is not 100% from CBC as dd had perfect ALT yet bile acids were high I think it is good to cover all your bases with the vet and many appreciate an informed owner helping them get to what the cause is - if they are confident that is | |

| Just got back from picking Bella up from the vet. Her Dr. thinks it could be encephalitis and the test results could rule that out in 24 hrs once it comes back. |
