| Oh....and I don't know of any law that would prohibit them from simply telling her that Ava is ok. When I get an owner surrender I promise to always keep them updated, as long as they wish to be. I do advise them that I can never tell them where their pup is. Not very difficult to tell someone a pup is ok. It is simple human kindness.

I have had to have one PTS because they could not guarantee that the surgery would help. So I do know what you are suffrering. But in a way it might have been easier to get over because there was no thought of getting her back, and I had to accept it right from the start.

As I said, she is grieving. No different than someone dealing with the death of a loved one. Would you advise them in such a manner? Case closed, move on?? I will not be responding to any more comments on this thread that are not in line with the original request....assistance.

Who cares about the law for a minute. I just don't see how the people in that office can be so damn heartless! This is a grieving woman who just lost her beloved baby that she has put so much time, money and love into! What is so wrong with saying " AVA IS DOING ALRIGHT, PLEASE MOVE ON " OR whatever. It's not illegal to tell you a dog is doing good! I don't get why they are being such a holes about it! Yes she signed the dog over, in the heat of the moment with no other options she did what she thought was best. WHo is to say she was thinking clearly? Maybe she can come up with the money and the dog will be okay, we don't know. You won't know until you try. I am sorry I feel a little bad for sharing my story with you and maybe giving you false hope. I realize now I was very lucky that at that office the people had hearts and even allowed me to come in for VISITS on 3 different occasions knowing she wasn't my dog any more. I don't know what it is. But if it was me in there and you called begging to know that the dog was ALIVE! Iwould say listen between you and I, Ava is okay, you don't have to worry. g

I hate when people say you shouldn't own a dog, you can't afford to know a dog. Who are other people to judge and tell you what YOU can afford and what you can do with your life. Where theres a will theres a way, what happen to being positive and supporting other people. Again I am so sorry that people are not treating you kindly and saying mean things. I was in your shoes, people told me things too and all it does is hurt you when you are trying to do something good. Maybe it's not right or maybe it isn't wrong. It's your life, you love that dog and who is to tell you you shouldn't have her! There so many people who can AFFORD a dog but do they treat the dog right? NO they could beat it or whatever, you love that dog and you treat that dog so well, nobody should tell you what is right or wrong in this situation, follow your heart.

I had the same thought about this being a grieving process for her, and that's such a personal thing. Everyone has to work through it in their own way. I have to say though, that if there was even the slightest chance of getting my baby back, I would fight like hell, too. Still thinking of you and praying for you and Ava!

I can't imagine the stress you must be feeling. What a mess! I guess you can't blame the office worker's, they have their order's and need their jobs. However, the doc in charge should at least talk to you when she returns to calm you knowing how much she ment to you and all the money you have already spent on her care should say something for you about the love that you have for her. Giving up a beloved pet is not easy for anyone, doing that alone shows how much this dog ment to you. That should speak for itself. There's no disgrace in running out of funds. Life happens. If people would stop judging other's and support them instead this world would be a much better place to live in. If the vet does not talk to you to calm you and let you know Ava's status at this time she should not be a vet at all! No vet could be that heartless. I wish you good luck in anything you do to get what you want. Hugs,
