| ![]() how do i contact her directly? roriee ate a bit for me just now. she did really good and i spoon fed her.. she almost ate a 1/4 can of the perscription diet soft food the doctor gave me. she still will not drink anything. but we are together and she is calm.. she did growl at me when i wanted to clean her face. her face must be sore by her mouth for some reason. but i will wait until she feels a bit better to clean her up. i have her wrapped in a towel next to me right now and she is looking at me. she hasnt taken her eyes off me since we got home and if i leave the room for any reason she has a episode of yelping. i am going to call to see how much it costs to rent a car to go to athens.. but i am also wondering if i need to take her to the emergency at ga vet specialist to get her on some pain meds and to get her neck wrapped so that it is protected. she is so vunerable right now. scares me when i move her. i am so afraid that i will move her the wrong way and hurt her. |

| ![]() Careful with pain meds. If the vet prescribes them, great. But if she moves too much when the meds kick in and it is AAI, things would not be good. I'm not sating to withhold them...just make sure your vet(s) knows.

| ![]() I agree sometimes pain is your best ally as it forces them to rest and if vet did not prescribe do not use meds. |

| ![]() Rossville is closer to University of Tennessee -- How far are you from university of tennessee as that is an excellent vet school that many yorkie owners go to for liver shunt. I feel bad for you as I know i have spent a ton on vet bills for mine and it is just not cheap anymore with vet bills in having a dog. I am running out of options to help out especially since you will not be able to afford if she does get to a vet school facility -- can you try to call the vet school to see if they can work out a payment plan for you if you can get her transported there? What is the vet saying about this whole situation and your financial situation? Are they offering any guidance with this situation financially? |

| ![]() i have given her some pedisure and made a small brace from my white bootie socks for her neck i cut the part that is elastic and it is around her neck. it provides a little bit of support. i went to the store and got the ace elastic bandage but i dont know how many times to wrap it around her. i dont want it to be to tight. i did talk to the lady who has little lucy and she is the one who told me to do all this. i have a larger syringe to feed her the pedisure and she is taking it. the food the vet gave me is not the right stuff and that is why after she ate she didnt feel very good. its to high in fat and protein. i will feed her the pedisure all night tonight and tomorrow see if i can get to pet smart and get her the liver food. giving her up to a rescue? would that save her? would i be able to get her back? i have applied to 2 grants so far on that one site. i emaile the mosley site and dougle's fund. also filled out a application to another one the other night but for the life of me i cannot remember which one it was. |

Unfortunately, whether you are dealing with AI, GME or any serious health issue, the vet bills are going to be very high. | |

| ![]() yes the vet bills would be high but if my vet could take the xray and then let the ga vet hospital confur on the results then at least a treatment plan could be established while i figure out how i can get the money needed for surgery. if i can get her where she is out of pain and able to be happy then i would want to go that route first. i will have to get donations and sell most everything i have which is ok. i am not sure how to go about getting donations but i would love to get pointers on how to go about doing that. |
